Yeah. I appreciate the fact that they're taking time to flesh out the arc properly, but I hope they don't end up dragging it out for too long.
I'd like the episode count for the arc to total at about 15 to 20 episodes, which is already longer than other Super arcs but not yet overdoing it.
The standard of Super is 12 episodes per arc and thankfully it seems we are having more episodes of this arc, luckily it can be like in Z, the next arc was longer than the previous one, so who knows? Maybe the next arc is about 50 episodes although we have no idea what Toriyama is writing for the series.
I'm looking forward the 12 universes tournament, which can be the longest arc of the series and also it can be even longer if something happens during that tournament, that would be definetly the last arc of the series because if any enemy appears, it has to be the strongest of all the universes.
Okay, I'm disappointed in one aspect. They probably don't even fight Black and Zamasu for very long. And I'm not excited for Zuno, and DO BEERUS AND WHIS REALLY NEED TO BE THERE AGAIN?! I am excited that the arc isn't over yet, but I already feel like it's being dragged now. This really should've been the final battle. And, Time Patrol Mai? Hmm...

With us coming up on Episode #60 and having our heroes being forced to flee back to the past after being overwhelmed, I'm starting to think that this arc may actually be wrapped up at the previously announced Episode #72. (Though this could also include a few slice of life episodes at the end or another mini-filler arc, as is the norm for Super.)

My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)
- Future Zamasu having a grudge against Goku makes no sense. It seems like they're going for a whole time loop thing, and those never made any sense to begin with. In order for this to make sense, Goku had to do something to future Zamasu to make him angry, what he did to present Zamasu shouldn't count. But still, I think they won't care about that. A minor thing.
- I like that Zuno's back but him being omniscient is awfully convenient, I hope he has some restrictions to his power or at least has a strong personality to stand up to Zamasu at a point.
- I like Beerus' and Whis' role, as long as they stay as side-characters and help in uncovering the mystery, they're being written well. It's when they are present during the battles that it undercuts any tension, so I hope they're not present during Goku and Black's final battle.

Champa arc was 14 episodes if you stop counting after the dragon was summoned.
I believe the Black arc's 11th episode airs today. Episode 12 will be what we've just read. Unless they faff around in the present again I can definitely see them wrapping up a couple episodes after 12.
I am still convinced this is going to be that much longer. Especially with the promise that Black and Zamasu secret will be revealed.

I think what will happen is that the "future" Zamasu we see is actually the future of present Zamasu. He'll use the time ring to go to Trunks' timeline at some point in the future, leading him to creating Black there somehow. I don't like this idea though, since it'll create a time paradox without a beginning (Zamasu only will create Goku Black due to meeting Goku, and Goku only will go after Zamasu due to meeting Goku Black), something that used to be avoided by DBZ's time travel. But I think the rings will be a plot device to allow that kind of paradox to happen now.

I kind of hope we get to a level where Beerus can be an active player without completely overpowering the villains. If Zamasu ends up being powered up due to the Super Dragonballs, maybe he can be on Beerus level or above it and then we can get Beerus fighting for real to defeat him.

Strongly concur! Game elements!
Agreed. I wanted the fight with Goku and Black last at least 2 episodes, but it seems we are not even having a full fight in this episode because Zamasu and F.Trunks will be talking for at least half of the episode. Probably the fight will last 3 minutes, like all the fights in DBS...
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

But what happened to Vegeta was climactic. I'd think at least Future Trunks and Zamasu would fight for a few minutes, but it seems it'll be all talk and then arc stretching.
I would really like to see Kaioken come into play here. To watch Goku use Kaioken x20 and frighten Black, if only for a moment, would be so worth it thanks to the intensity and rigour the technique emits. If you ask me, Kaioken always made for more interesting fights compared to Super Saiyan where it's just a constant steady stream of power allowing you to remain in control the whole time.
I knew it! I knew this wasn't the climax of the arc! It feels much more like Cell kicking Vegeta's ass when he achieved his Perfect form, or Freeza trampling on Piccolo, Vegeta and company, rather than the final battle. It's that point where you are thinking "How are they possibly going to beat this guy?", not the point where you go "Hmm, he's probably done at the end of this." There is still much more to be revealed like what actually IS Black, when did Zamasu turn evil, how did they end up in Future Trunks' timeline. Ending it now would have been super anticlimactic, so I don't know why people are surprised it's not the endgame.

I wouldn't say it's arc stretching. It's nice to have to see the good guys retreat. It'd be boring if Black's powerup made him just strong enough that Goku could beat him without any more planning or training.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

What else is someone that weak going to do to someone that strong ? talking his way out of the fight is the only thing he can do now.
Sodhi wrote:I have a feeling that there will be another fight later down the road, which would be much longer.
Of course there will be cause this isn't the final one.
What I'd like to see is a full team battle of Goku, Vegeta & Trunks vs Black & Zamasu but instead of them taking turns or switching, they all fight at the same time.

It's like the old arcs where they have to step back for awhile and think of a new strategy.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

This is what I'd like to see as well. That was why I suggested Gogeta/Vegito VS Black & Zamasu instead of a Fusion between the latter two earlier in this thread.
