Daizenshuu: Only published once, correct?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Daizenshuu: Only published once, correct?

Post by MajinVejitaXV » Thu Mar 22, 2007 11:13 am

Heya guys,

I recently won an ebay auction for Daizenshuu 1-7 and am communicating with the seller. He had multiple sets for sale, but I noticed some were priced higher. I asked him why and he stated it was because they went on the market in a different year.

That doesn't make much sense to me and I'm a bit apprehensive now since these were only published once to my knowledge. Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks,
Corey

Well, I think the best I can tell you is that there are "bootlegs" even of the Daizenshuu.
A friend of mine has a couple of Chinese versions, but when I say Chinese I mean that they are exact copies of the Japanese ones...only not issued by Shueisha.

Yeah, that was what I was worried about. I'm asking the guy to tell me the publisher and provide pictures or it's a no sale.

Wow, I did not know that bootleg Daizenshuu were around, It's a shame.

I am pretty sure all mine are legit as I got them from a trusted place, but you never know, there are after all honest retailers who sell bootlegs unknowingly sometimes, sadly.

Son_GokouSSJ4, do you know how to check for sure, are there any obvious signs?

Mine all say Shueisha on the spine, I take it the bootlegs do not.

Well, as far as I know, the fake ones don't even have Shueisha written on their spines, so that should eliminate the possibility's of yours being one of those.
For another thing, the paper quality is WAY worse, as well as the printing quality.
I'll try to ask my friend for a few scans, and if I manage to get them I'll post them here.
