You do know Gotenks was just talking exaggerated bulls**t right? He was just saying that to make fun of Piccolo. That ties in with the fusion's personality. He is tremendously conceited and obnoxious. Not everything is literal you know.

Gohan's flying speed in the Boo Arc should by all means be light speed considering how fast Muten Roshi and Kuririn moved at the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai and how much everyone had gotten stronger since then. But it isn't. He's only 15 times faster than a jet.

It was stated that it'd take a jet 5 hours to fly from Goku's house to Orange Star High School. Gohan himself stated it would take him 20 minutes to do the same.

If I may take a page out of Mr.Oda's book...

The unit of measure for the Z characters speed is called ZPH (Z's per hour.)
In Dragonball, the characters are moving at approx. 4 ZPH's. By the beginning of Z, they're moving at atleast 40 ZPH's, and the the Buu saga are moving at atleast 300 ZPH's.

How far is a Z? Well, one Z is approximately the distance of 100 hooplah's, and 1 hooplah is approximately 5000 GT's. So by the end of Z, the characters have got to be moving at over 150,000,000 GT's per hour!

Really, I guess that is why Toriyama wrote it in the manga.

You guys can deny evidence all you want, It is stated and canon. Since all of you want to deny facts and beieve your own theories, LOL!. I will stop this debate. It seems to be going nowhere with people who are only intersted in expressing their own heart instead of facts!

Ok, how about this.

Vs Topics only work when major hard-to-dispute evidence is used.

When Magneto was posting in this thread, such evidence was present.
And now we're just doing the same song and dance again...

And instead of just letting it die, I'll say...

Vs topics are not about deep mysterious investigations into every little detail of what angle Goku's pinky is in when he blocks a really fast punch.

It's like, who do you think would make an interesting opponent for the group in question, and why. And if you'd like to speculate as to who would win, yay, that's fun for some of us.
It's like, campfire discussion... not a legal battle.

Now, I'm going to turn the topic away from speed, if I may...

The way I see it, the power it took to take down a weakened Galactus, not killing him, even; just breaking through his armor, was about the same level as the Genki Dama Goku used against YiXinLong. Add that to Galactus being part of the somethingsomething tribunal (Like, one of the three main intities safeguarding the universe), and... I'd consider Galactus a worthy opponent.
Yes, Galactus has been forced away from eating planets a number of times. How about his fight with the Phoenix? Regardless of what is argued about the abilities of Goku/Superman/Surfer... Galactus and Phoenix, so far as I can tell, would wipe the floor with just about anyone from DBZ to the extent that only GT Goku would stand a chance.

My post went completely over your head didn't it? Yes Toriyama wrote it in the manga as an obnoxious, BS comment to add humour to Goten's character, not to state scientific facts. Because it's funny to see someone teasing Piccolo and pissing him off. Again as I said, you're taking it too literally. The man never cared about being that thorough. This is a person who couldn't even remember who Kamesennin was and a fellow manga-ka(Eichiro Oda) knows and remembers more about the man's work than he does! How many times as a kid did you tell insane lies just to "one up" your friends? It's the same situation.

By the way, if we were to take EVERYTHING the characters stated as the absolute truth, how do you explain the multiple times Vegeta claimed he had attained Super Saiyajin or that he'd destroy an opponent and was pathetically proven wrong?

You haven't proven anything. The burden of proof is on you since you made the statement. That's how a debate works by the way. It's "going nowhere" as you put it because you are the one constantly binded by your own theories". From what I've seen most people here have remained rational and made good posts, so I don't know where you get the idea that people are "expressing their hearts". I think it's just a convenient rationalization on your part so you don't have to come up with proper, solid evidence.

Gotenks was showing off (one of his traits) his speed, anyone with more than one brain cell who has ever read a comic book would see that.

Do you think Toriyama just drew him circling the earth for no reason what so ever? Do you actually understand the concept of visual story telling??!!

It's also speculation on your part. 36 times around the Earth takes five seconds at lightspeed.

Ughh. You know what? I'll settle this. Superman isn't the strongest being in the universe. Neither are Phoenix, Galactus, Silver Surfer, or even Vejita or Goku or Gojita at SSJ4.
