Wondering About Authenticity on This

Post by Jerseymilk » Thu May 06, 2004 1:21 pm

I was doing some DBZ product browsing on E-bay and came across this interesting "Cyborg Freeza" figure. I'm trying to figure out if it's a bootleg or not. The seller is from England so I'm thinking it's most likely a legal European product. It's just that it has kanji writing on it and it looks "off" to me in that "bootleg-ish kind of way". I don't know, I think I'm just getting "bootleg paranoid" these days. :P Also, I find it strange that the Freeza figure comes with a sword, but then again, Irwin put rocket launchers in with their Kuririn figures, so many that's not so unusual is it? :? Notice too, that the seller incorrectly says it's Trunks' sword when you can clearly tell it's a Japanese katana, not a broadsword. Anyway, I would love to hear what other people opinions are on it or if they know more about the product and can verify whether it's legal or not. At any rate, it's an interesting item.

I know Jakks Pacific did actually make a Cyborg Freeza recently, but I dont know how "authentic" that one is.

It looks a little suspicious, but that does look like the new Freeza figure advertised on the Z store.

That's the thing. I thought at first it was Jakks Pacific too, but the more I look at it, the more it looks "off" somehow to me. Could be the fact that I'm making my eyes funny by staring at it so much. :P

If you're not sure, don't buy it. It's never failed for me. :)

No I don't want to buy it. I was just curious about it.

Since you're not going to buy it, it's fake! :)
Yes... I am... but you don't know that...

I think it a fake, notice how Freezer is spelt on the box under the action figure.

I'm not sure if you're being funny, but his name is spelt "F R I E Z A" on pretty much all western products.

That said, the box design doesn't look like anything I've seen in the shops before. The repeated picture of Freezer is a bit suspicious.

It is indeed an authentic figure. I bought one myself at K-mart recently for $8. And it is INDEED Trunks' sword, not a katana. It's just at a strange angle in that picture.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

I have it. Its official. The newest series of figures uses those packages instead of the old ones. The newer packages have individual artwork on them for each character, which is neat.

When in doubt, check dragonballtoys.com
