If you're referring to her frontal parts, that's covered unedited too.
No, in the unedited version, her breasts and butt are visible. The edited rerelease has them covered up.

You're sure about this? Watching the uncut anime, the bubbles are still covering the breasts and we merely get a side view of her butt. I haven't read the manga chapter of that scene, so I'm not sure. Maybe a pic would do? That is, if you guys are talking about the Namek saga scene when Bulma gets a call from her Dad about Goku coming to the planet.

My fault for misunderstanding. Well, I'm an anime purist as it is. Pic of proof anyway would be cool, getting naked Bulma pics that Mike approves would be pretty awesome.

Oh ok. When you said naughty parts I thought you meant lower frontal.

I don't have a scanner but I can confirm that Bulma's breasts are not censored in any way. :P

A few pages later, you can also see Yamcha walking away in a daze with breasts in place of his eyes, made me laugh like hell.

Which kind of gets lost in the edited version, since he doesn't actually see anything. I can put up some comparison pictures of the volumes later today.

I have the volume where Grandpa Gohan appears that is unedited and released by viz. I got it maybe 2-4 years ago and actually I was pretty surprised when I saw it. Maybe they are talking about the Shonen Jump re-releases.

I just bought Volume 3 of Dragonball on Friday and was surprised to see the lips left on one of the black competitors. I wonder if the editors just missed him or if this just an example of extreme inconsistency, since in volume 2 there are no lips on the black bunny man.

You see lips on him in my vol. 2. They're just the same color as his skin. I think it was similar in the anime too, though I haven't seen that ep in years. Vol. 3 had them different for that guy you spoke of at the tournament too. Also I must say I prefer Popo with the filled in lips myself.

They occasionally keep the lips on black characters, usually on ones who make very brief appearences.

I took out volume 25 from the library today, and am amazed to see they're editing the messages in the front from Akira Toriyama!
As of this writing, only 3 more chapters until Dragon Ball Z is at its conclusion....blah blah blah...volume 26 will be extra thick just like this one. Enjoy!
Interesting how in volume 13..
Well, we're finally at volume 30!
It's nothing too big, but something interesting to point out.

Remember, vol. 14 of English DBZ was vol. 30 of the original graphic novels. The former you mentioned was probably just a change so guys wouldn't be confused by the numbers.

Hm... another thread about the manga edits? Okay... (cracks knockles and sees what he can do to add to the conversation)

In the earlier DB manga volumes, there would be those letters to Toriyama from fans. You'd think that the letters would have been translated from Japanese, but if you refer to them, you'll notice that two of them appear to be hand written... in English!

As for Mr. Popo's lips being edited, I sent this to DaizEX a ways back asking them for their thoughts. Looking back on the volumes with him in it, though, you'll notice that the editors forgot to edit the lips out from his appearance in the one title page during the Saiyajin Saga.

Other than that, Tyro pretty much covered everything on page 1.

Also something I noticed about the new Viz logo editions don't all have the same standards they put on DB. You know how the vol. 10 with the new logo edited Yamcha flipping off Tien out, well in a copy of YYH, they left in Kuwabara giving Yusuke the bird.

That's kind of sad, IMO... I mean, no one but me I used to know in elementary school gave a crap about original DB, only Z. So, why edit that and not YYH when people at my school used to care about that?

*is not giving VIZ ideas for the record*
