Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Just to entertain the thought for curiosity sake. The video uploaded has audio which I would say is for the most part clearer and louder than the dragon box. Surely this must mean something for his credibility. I'm just speculating.
If it's really clearer, either he re-adjusted some levels, or more likely, it's the stuff from the Blu-ray. Funimation did a decent job at cleaning audio up for that release.

None of what was in that clip sounds even close to the audio Kei possesses. I think he just tried to do his own "clean-up" of the audio and thought he could pawn it off as broadcast audio from Kei. He's got another video like that on his alternate channel called Enigmo.

I just compared his audio he uploaded of episode 18 to the audio from the Blu-Ray Sets. Honestly his audio is better. This is my honest opinion. If you own the release then listen to it and compare it from 03:30 from the Blu-Ray to the clip he has posted. You may not think it is better, but one thing is for certain it is not the remastered Blu-Ray audio playing in that youtube video. It has to be sourced from elsewhere.
Very possible it's from a fansub VHS that he cleaned up. I'll try to check mine to see what the quality is like (but there were so many tapes so who knows)
Again, that person in question isn't someone you should take any real notice of. Whatever the source of that audio is, it's almost certainly not from Kei, nor does it come close to his quality.
If it helps, here's an actual sample of Kei's broadcast audio from episode 17:
This is a sample of his old audio which was broadcast with a high pass filter, so it doesn't even come close to the clarity he has now from the newly acquired Fuji recordings.
Supposedly the new stuff doesn't sound too far removed from the Big Box audio.

Don't be so optimistic No television recording can sound even close to Big Box audio (original master). The way the signal came through was too long to keep it close to the original quality (for example: dynamic range compression, low-pass filter, THD+N, intermodulation distortion, modulation, transmission, demodulation, analog-to-digital conversion, digital-to-analog conversion, again analog-to-digital conversion etc.). Also, don't forget that PCM track on Hi8 tape is only 32kHz / 8-bit.

I mean, that goes without saying. You're stating the obvious here. The point was that it's comparable, all things considered. It's going to have a fuller range compared to what we currently have. I think you took me just a little too literally!

Don't forget that it may not be so obvious for people who aren't into audio

Don't take it as a criticism. I just wanted to provide a clearly technical opinion. Technically speaking, you can easily say that original broadcast recordings took severe damage, while from a listening perspective - it's not that great at all.
Don't worry - I read your posts since I registered here and I wouldn't allow myself to write that you don't know what you're saying.
I'm sorry if I sounded harsh - that was not my intent.

Interesting! Have you sampled any of his newly acquired recordings?
There seems to be a renewed interest in the original broadcast audio. I find it strange, I feel like Kei17 has intentionally disappeared. Considering his twitter is now private. Is he digitising the newly sourced episodes. Or is he actually fed up with all of it. I mean when you have something as rare and sought after as he does surely you can expect a mob of people to irrationally bombard you. Did he not expect such a response, or was it the greed of people which made him disappear. Humans will constantly want what they cannot have. If Kei17 has audio that is Stereo 2.0, and a Kei18 comes along who has audio that is 5.1 Surround Sound (which is impossible i know) then we will just want what Kei18 has.

I doubt he's just "fed up" with the project, he's gone through quite some trouble to get the highest quality of tapes available.
CNXToonami or Enigmo is a very very very big liar he has some audio and video skill but allways use what is already available in broadcast audio (like the ep 120 sample on youtube) to make other think that he can remaster all episodes and surely obtain things in return.
when i was asking how he color correct without encoding but just with the player he wanted to make me pay to know it...nothing can be trust about him (just see his youtube video for level 3.2 in stereo japanese (with reverb effect -_-")...)
The ep 18 sample is from a fansub vhs.
I have seen before he has some fansub episode in the first dbz one and sound is far than broadcast one.
He is exactly the kind of person why kei will never just release his audio publicly illegaly in addition with the legal trouble in japan if he did.
This kind of man will say that they are the source or that the audio is their remaster no taking kei as credit.
if kei had new version i am wondering how it can sound better than what we already know it is surely incredible.
But as for me even the old broadcast version he had fit me well (and don't say no for the better one XD)
don't dream: public release other than legal one can be did by kei

I died laughing at how you wrote this.
The man obviously has some kind of attention seeking complex. He himself told me is completely arrogant and is aware of this. And he has nothing of value besides maybe those fansubs and a couple of laserdiscs: Certainly nothing remotely close to the realm of original broadcast audio and certainly not in communication with kei whatsoever. Lies, lies, and more lies.

No, why would it? It's fiction. The strength of the characters is not possible to reach in reality.
I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.
