Kai isn't an upscale.

Toei isn't releasing anything from Dragon Ball to GT right now. They released the Dragon Boxes and singles and that was it. So why is this stupid company so against FUNimation (and others I guess) having the masters to work with? I'm sure Toei gets a cut from whatever merchandise they sell, so I really don't understand it. It's not an "integrity" thing about how they don't want their work bastardized by the evil FUNimation because the toothpaste is already out of the tube, all of the "damage" has already been done years ago.

I just don't get it.
Yeah It's definitely not that Toei were happy to supply artwork for the new Season BD's aswell as let FUNi showcase the sets in an event in Japan.

Toei will be Toei I guess. Like FUNimation we're stuck with weird companies

even if someone did it on bs fuji i don't think someone will share it.
Dragon Ball Z is airing each tuesday on Tokyo Mx with old master and true color video and no-one even record them (and less sharing them)

Are they airing an upscaled version or is it a remaster of some sort?

No, why would it? It's fiction. The strength of the characters is not possible to reach in reality.
I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

This is my opinion, as much as I love DB and GT I personally don't want them upscaled, i think that funi should just license the dragon boxes and get those out and whatever they have left over use for remaster of blu ray and just call it with the old series. If that was to happen I'm afraid we may/won't get a proper remaster of Z, but in all honesty we still have 4:3 Z out there.

When you say a little more footage, do you mean the frame is expanded more than the Dragon Box?

I have noticed from the handful of screenshots I've seen that the Tokyo MX video has a grimy red or yellow cast on it. I would love to see you attempt to correct for that, genjo. It may very well be closer to the original colors underneath that cast. (I do not profess to know how that works lol).
