Creative Product Corp Dub on VHS?

I've been trying to do some research on the various English dubs of DB/DBZ and the one dub that I can't seem to find very much information on is the one done by "Creative Products Corporation" in the Philippines. Supposedly they dubbed the first 30 or so episodes of DBZ in English and then went back and dubbed DB in English but there really is no proof of this considering that there is literally no footage of any of these dubbed episodes. What I do know for a fact however, is that they did dub the 2 Coola movies thanks to some very low quality clips on Youtube. The only info I could find on it was that both movies were combined into 1 movie and was released theatrically and on VHS. However I have never seen any evidence that this VHS exists, there are no images of it online, it's never shown up on eBay (at least from my searching anyways), and at this point it seems like it's either extremely rare or people lied and it was never actually released. I've seen some people on this forum say that they have the tape, if that's true then I would really like to see an image of it just to confirm its existence.

Is this dub of Dragon Ball Z related in any way to the Animax dub of Dragon Ball? I found this interview with Dave Bridges and it doesn't look like they are.

I regret that I don't have a clip to share with you, but I can confirm that this dub does indeed exist. I have seen a clip of their DBZ dub (of the TV series, I mean) on YouTube, but it has since been deleted.

I'm really sad no one has a single clip from the TV show dub. It's a dub I'm really interested in but there is little to no information on it. Even the singapore dub for YuGiOh has been partially archived (first 80 episodes) and I'd say that's even more obscure than this dub

I remember seeing a clip from the VHS release on YouTube. It had a freeze-frame screen with the title logo saying "DRAGON BALL Z" in a unique font and an image of Goku charging an energy ball in the final battle against Metal Coola. Then the opening animation with Gino Padilla's song comes after that. Also, I think I've seen the same video clip from the TV series that TheBlackPaladin refers to. It had a recap with a female voice narration.

I really regret that I didn't download them.

I contacted Apollo Abraham a while ago (the voice of Kuririn and Coola in the Filipino dub) and he confirmed that the Greatest Rivals movie (movies 5-6) was actually released on VHS but nothing of the series ever was. Now my question is how come that tape is nearly impossible to find? I speculate that it could have possibly been a rental only release but I'm not sure. Also I really hope someone else has recordings of the TV series dub and uploads clips one day I am really interested in seeing it.

Also on a side note, I noticed that the Filipino English version of Makafushigi Adventure uses the same instrumental as the Indonesian dub's opening.

As for Makafushigi Adventure, yeah, they share the same backing track for some reason. I haven't found out any evidence, but my guess is that Indonesia imported the dubbing materials from the Philippines.

These are dubbed in the Tagalog language, which is one of the native languages spoken in the Philippines that belongs to the Austronesian language family. We are talking about an English dub produced in the Philippines.

Also, I'm not sure if anyone has already found this or not but I found this clip on Vimeo (https://vimeo.com/23613741) uploaded by the director of the dub that is just the end credits for the "Greatest Rivals" movie. The weird thing is that even though it credits the voice actors, it doesn't say who voices who. I know that Apollo Abraham voiced Kuririn and Coola (later in the Tagalog dub he voiced Freeza and Mr. Satan) and Nesty Ramirez is the voice of Goku but I'm not quite sure about the other voices.

I had a really low quality if the movies years ago but i wish i had it, my hardrive crashed. One thing I do recall was that is was slightly edited. Gut shots and the sort were cut.

I hate to bump up this old thread but I have recently found some new information regarding this dub that I don't think anyone else has found and didn't think it warranted another thread. These are 3 newspaper scans I found of "Manila Standard" that talk about the Creative Products Corp dub.

This is the meaty one, it confirms that the dub began airing in 1993 (fans have previously speculated conflicting years), that they produced 26 episodes of an edited DBZ dub (as to which Japanese episodes those correspond with would be unknown since it's an edited dub) and that they dubbed the original Dragon Ball anime as well though it is unknown how far they dubbed.
So that should help clear up some misinformation.

That's an awesome find man! We finally have some concrete evidence of when it aired as well as it's timeslots and the amount of episodes that DBZ had dubbed.

RJ Celdran voiced Sauzer. That's all I know.

I can't 100% confirm it but I have a feeling that just like "The Greatest Rivals" the Filipino English dubs of movies 10 and 11 got a limited VHS release as well. I'm only guessing this because I have seen a picture of 2 bootleg DBZ VHS tapes (I think on Twitter I'll need to go through and dig them up), one of them being labeled "Movie 6 Gokou vs. Coola Dubbed" and another labeled "Movie 11 Clone of Brolly Dubbed" I have a feeling that the Movie 11 tape has to be a bootleg copy of the Filipino dub because Speedy never dubbed the movie (to my knowledge) and neither did AB Groupe and those tapes being bootlegs of Funimation dubs wouldn't make sense because the spellings on those tapes would have been "Goku" "Cooler" and "Broly." If there exists bootlegs of it then it must have been released to some capacity on VHS unless it was recorded off of a TV broadcast or it's a camrip from when it was playing in Filipino theaters.
Of course Apollo Abraham told me that the Greatest Rivals movie was the only VHS released by the company but the Broly movies could have been dubbed by a different company.

The Movie 10+11 double feature was indeed made by a different company. The person who told me didn't know what the name of the company is, tho. Also, I can't clearly remember what was said about it other than that... It may or may not have used the same voice actors.

Speedy Dub did actually dub movie 11, the only movies I have seen no evidence of being dubbed is movie 13, DB Movie 1 and 4.

I don't think anything will come of it, but it's cool to have the dub acknowledged, maybe we could request that he uploads a short clip containing dialogue? That in itself would be amazing!

The part that intrigues me about this was how he said "release it to the public" but if it was released on VHS then it technically was, but that supports something I've been thinking about lately as to why this dub may be so hard to find. I was looking at the case to my CD of Songs of a High Spirited Saga and noticed recently that there's no UPC on it whatsoever, this leads me to believe that whatever Creative Products released of the dub were not things you could just buy in stores, copies of The Greatest Rivals and Songs of a High Spirited Saga must have only been available for purchase at special events or through a special catalog or something. There is a code on the spine to the CD case "DBZ-K-5026" which I assume is a catalog number. I don't have much evidence to support my theory but I do remember VegettoEX saying in a thread from many years ago that if he recalls correctly, the movie 5-6 dub was produced for a film festival in the Philippines so that could have been one of the few places you could buy the VHS and soundtrack.
