I want you folks to look for every single post made by myself on that page in the main Dragonball Absalon forum thread (Shad73). The need to finally address this topic has come full circle and while I'm not trying to rally anyone per se, I'm trying to shed some light on an issue at least marginally that ought be of utmost concern to Dragonball fans.
Dragonball isn't a platform for hate. The fact remains that while Super has had a controversial progression (an animation style being half and half for some with an excellent story, at least for me requiring delayed gratification), it has not had nearly the infrastructural room for error and abuse involved that Mellavelli's controversial series' production entails. I say 'controversial' because it is hotly loved by its' biggest fans, but its' critics are seldom heard from because Melvin usually deletes them on DeviantArt, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
My friend AspiringCreator on DeviantArt and I, Nicholas King, have joined together to at least remain in the context of the Absalon conversation so that we are a voice that remains capable of pointing to what we feel may be Mellavelli's 'ick factor' as Jim DeRogatis once coined of R. Kelly; the same term can be found by looking up 'The Kelly Conversations' on YouTube and watching the episode with Lorraine Ali and Bill Wyman (Not of the Rolling Stones).
https://www.facebook.com/SayNoToGreedyCreators/
This address is a mock Dragonball Absalon fansite that dedicates itself to continually exposing the problems of the series and at least threatens Mellavelli in that we are actually poised to get an interview from him courtesy of Theadamsmasher Multiverse on YouTube. We still haven't gotten our reply and as a result there is no denying that if we never get it after a certain point there is something very fishy.
There is also the likely possibility that Melvin is monetizing his videos; we have already confirmed through numerous posts that he was selling t-shirts and posters while also stating he hadn't earned the rights to make money off the material.
It is my hope that anyone who chooses to reply to this forum thread is honest with us and respectful. If you read one of the comments lower on the top address' comment section, you will see the type of conduct that will not be censored, but not encouraged either. It is okay to engage debate and it's okay to even feel lukewarm about the subject, but I don't feel lukewarm when it is my responsibility to feel like Dragonball Absalon is a platform of hate for people who without its' powers are mediocre animators who wouldn't have a voice.
Finally, everybody hug each other before you comment. Like the page if you feel convicted!

Re: The Truth About Dragonball Absalon
Your introduction here is incredibly confusing and lacking in any real content. Are you attacking the fan production? Its creator? Neither? I can't actually tell from reading this post alone.
Dragon Ball is not a platform for hate, and neither is this forum. But again, I honestly can't even tell what you're asking for, and I don't think it's realistic to point people to some other thread and say, "oh, just go read everything I've ever written over there."
Can you summarize what it is you're actually asking for / doing? You seem to expect people to know what this "Absalon" project is, and even more specifically, everything about its creator. It's a big jumble of words, but you're not really saying anything here

Re: The Truth About Dragonball Absalon
My friend, with pleasure.
Shad73 wrote:I was once a diehard Absalon fan and now I think it's absolutely horrible. I was once in the inner circle of Mellavelli through a project of his pupils' and furthermore, I saw Mellavelli's ego like never before. His pupil made fun of me getting molested at the age of 19 by a worship leader on a public DeviantArt journal, something I told him privately after he asked me why I hated my college. Between me losing complete respect for Melvin and getting cyberbullied by his pupil I ended up accidentally talking to the former producer of Absalon and finding out the show's final product was supposed to be a lot better. I guess you'd say the ability to connect teacher and pupil as one and the same is what led my friend David and I to having to alert the Dragonball community to this problem.

There's a lot of bad stuff that goes on behind the scenes in the Dragonball Absalon community, from small details such as Mellavelli deleting comments being a known fact from 2012 onwards that Malik himself has pointed out to the fact that his pupil is a confirmed misogynist and homophobe. That's why when the falling out between me and him reached a nadir it recolored my perception of the series so that after May of this year when the first part of episode five dropped I felt like it jumped the shark completely. Then I watched the series as a whole marathon-style (because I had a love-hate relationship with the show) for the first time, as opposed to watching it according to the day released and rewatching older episodes sporadically. The show's former good has so outweighed the bad for me that I now fully hate the show. Hell, take a look at these.

The problem is that the people who support Absalon are never going to properly see the fact Melvin is creating something both with far less substance than it could've had and something that has essentially become a front for someone whose ego is utterly enormous. Nonetheless, I'll continue to watch the new episodes and read the new manga just because there's the ability to laugh at how terrible it is. After watching Resurrection 'F' for the third time with a good friend of mine who had to deal with Melvin's pupil and seeing together that Toriyama is indeed back, I would say Absalon has become the only watchable way to watch Dragonball Evolution. Agreed?
We aren't attacking anyone; we are simply trying to prompt higher criticism of the work Dragonball Absalon, the fan animated series by Melvin E. Dompig (Mellavelli) on YouTube. It is my assumption that there are a fair number of folks on here who know exactly what Dragonball Absalon is, given the fact its' first episode only had 14 million views. My friend David and I are on the verge of garnering an interview as I have previously said, which would otherwise stall the necessity of having to leak the most important meme of ours. I think the essence of what we're trying to do is make people think hard and no, Dragonball isn't a platform for hate. I am simply saying that I do not want Dragonball Absalon to be Melvin's way in to at least accidentally spread hate or introduce individuals who will.Shad73 wrote:https://youtu.be/NGaN6b2LdWk
I also wanted to apologize if it seems like I deleted my thanks to Lord Beerus; I sent him and Cetera messages thanking them for standing up for me and to everyone who's replied respectfully, I want to thank you for your kindness.
The above clip is for you guys to get an exact picture of my suffering at the hands of Mellavelli's pupil. I have pictures of its' earlier view count before it was accidentally deleted if you don't believe me, so I want to ask any fans of Dragonball Absalon this sincere question.
Can you possibly support Mellavelli without judgment? I can't, at this point. I think I've said everything I had to say.

Re: The Truth About Dragonball Absalon
For the most part, I've always seen Absalon as a dumb thing to laugh at every now and then, but I didn't think it's community was actually as toxic as your account suggests. I am sorry to hear it invaded your private life in such a bad way.
Unfortunately, taking Mellavelli's nonsense seriously will only help his project grow, if only due to its notoriety. He doesn't deserve the free exposure. My initial suggestion would be for everyone to ignore him and move on. If Mellavelli keeps behaving in such a ridiculous manner, he will hopefully crash and burn all on his own.
With an American presidential election in November, there are far more important things in the world to pay attention to than Dragon Ball: Absalon.

I've never even heard of this, I'd say it's best to just ignore it if it's causing some sort of issue. As VegettoEX said, the introduction is nothing but a mass of word soup, so I'm not sure exactly what the problem is, but this is the internet, you can click off the page and pretend that it doesn't exist.

Agreed! Things like finishing my comic collection, or anything else that doesn't involve Dragon Ball Absalon, for that matter.ParkerAL wrote:For the most part, I've always seen Absalon as a dumb thing to laugh at every now and then, but I didn't think it's community was actually as toxic as your account suggests. Re: The Truth About Dragonball Absalon
There are lots of positive things to pay attention to, of course! And I primarily threw this out there for people to explore the subject if they wanted to: herein lies no obligation. I just thought y'all would be interested in talking about it and I can totally understand not wanting to talk about it. At least I feel I got the word out there and I thank you guys for your kindness.ParkerAL wrote:For the most part, I've always seen Absalon as a dumb thing to laugh at every now and then, but I didn't think it's community was actually as toxic as your account suggests. I'm not sure the word "positive" fits the subject I alluded to in my third paragraph, but that's a topic for another forum.
Thanks for sharing your insights on Absalon, Shad73. I'm glad you put the information out there.

Re: The Truth About Dragonball Absalon
I'm still very much struggling with the content and intent of this thread. At the risk of seeming incredibly insensitive toward a very personal topic, I do want to put out there that this seems very... witchhunt-esque, it regards a personal confrontation between people, and doesn't appear to truly be about the fan project itself. Our community really isn't the place for something like this, and I will not let it be the platform for that.

Re: The Truth About Dragonball Absalon
Sir, I completely understand that; I was just making my point and I believe we made it. I was concerned you were going to go Absalon fan on us, but your will is good. That's why this thread is closed; nothing on Absalon should be on Kanzenshuu, really, but again. I believe I have gained the support and love from the Dragonball community I need.VegettoEX wrote:I'm still very much struggling with the content and intent of this thread. VegettoEX, I am sincerely glad you are making this concern available ahead of time and I promise, this is the last time I'll mention this on Kanzenshuu. I believe I've been talking about it enough on Facebook; you should like our page! Either way, I'll be just riding the Nimbus here, talking DB and writing fanfics.
