I imagine Toyo-tarou is spending more time on the flashback because there isn't a story in place for the next story arc yet, so he has the luxury of being behind the animated series, rather than ahead or up to speed with.

It's the same feeling that the Future Trunks Special chapter from the original manga gave, I remember MistareFusion/GafferTape making a similar commnent(to the Trunks chapter, not the DBS manga), he described it better than I could with my own words.

So far the current Arc has been avoiding it for the most part, might the extended page count.
Yeah this is an excellent criticism and fair point. Noticed how these last 3 chapters have actually felt like an actual manga instead of abridged events

This is one of the reasons why I don't find myself going back to much of the pre-Black stuff. It's fine and certainly a lot more sensical than the anime but only now is Toyotaro being left to do his own thing as an actual story instead of just a recap of the anime with some alterations.

ok someone help me out.

I read the MS translation and it it states black has killed all god and kaioshins in other universes. I'm assuming that means are universe 1-12 future kaiou's have been eradicated by black, which means why isn't zeno sama doing anything about this?

He killed a considerable amount of Kai's and Gods himself when he destroyed a third of the multiverse. I doubt he cares much about this. If anything, I'd be the remaining Gods and attendants are trying not to tell him for fear of him getting angry over their incompetence.

We don't know. The story is still on-going.

I can only suppose, by actual evidences, tha Zeno is not a "good shepard" like our occidental view could figure out about a "king of everything", but is very similar to chinese emperors. He live on another level, with luxury, fun and doesn't care what happen at lower levels.
When U6 tournament happen, he acted more like "you didn't tell me of something fun", instead of being enraged.
He's just a kid with incredible powers, not a ruler.
This is only a speculation, but I'm almost sure it explain Zeno's missing.
I learned english listening to songs. So I don't know anything about. The day you had to learn play piano by just listening .mp3, you'll understand.

I just realized this is the first time we saw Kibito fighting.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

And he still died in the same manner he did in the original story. History truly repeats. :P

I honestly love Toyotaro's callback to the original manga.

I believe I heard somewhere he keeps the original manga close to him as he draws for references when it comes to scenes like this!

That wouldn't be surprising, considering he used his own AF doujinshi as a reference when he drew the small sparring match between Goku and Vegeta.

I could just see the Dragon Ball manga being lined up in front of him when he draws the Super manga. I'm sure Toriyama appreciates it.

I think it takes an artistic mind to remember panels like that from the original manga, and to be able to pay homage to them without it outright being the exact same. His art is a 10 for me, I wonder what would happen if he was allowed to tell his own story. (AF wasn't really his story, just fan-fics he got off the net)

Even though I'm sure he appreciates both adaptations, I at times wonder which version does Toriyama prefer more, the anime or manga? I have a hunch that it might be the manga.

I think most people would choose manga, since its easier to go through then so many episodes.

So the Kai's were killed in Trunks parallel world. Remember, a parallel world is when one goes back to the past and alter it. Trunks did this with the time machine when he came back in the past from his future [same world], but altered the past by keeping Goku alive, thus making it a different world. In the future [one world] Goku is dead in the past [another world] Goku is alive. So the Kai's are dead in the future thus killing the God of destruction in that universe, Being in perfect sync with the story that the kai's and god of destruction are a set. Black killing all the kaioshin's and as a result the god's of destruction's in the other universes is just revealed information as to why Black is freely able to to wreck havoc. The manga and anime are the same story, one just goes into detail explaining the other, revealing information the other has not yet developed on.

Honestly was sick of all the Z throwbacks and flashbacks in broth the Anime and Manga. Luckily it hasn't been as bad in this arc and if they keep it like this only throwing the odd homage here and there that should be okay. Homages are meant to be special and it got to point where they weren't. "Oh look I'm posing Vegeta and Goku like the Saiyan arc go me." , "oh look we're getting Picoyo to sacrifice himself for Gohan, go us!!".

I guess even with reveal of the logo it isn't all surprising we got constant call backs to Z within the show and Manga, but as I said they toned it down this arc and is letting Super be it's own thing.

Super is a continuation of Dragonball.
It is expected to show flashbacks for that sake.
