When you're gonna come up with a name in Dragon Ball, puns are usually where it's at. I'm not sure what Jaco is a pun on (if anything), but I'd try to use a similar one. Unless she's gonna be part of a bigger group, like a family or clan or something, in which case coming up with a new theme works best.

It’s probably a pun on zako, an unimportant small-fry (or a minor enemy in video games).

The quote above is from Herms. I have a vague memory of the "small fry" joke being made in the series, but I can't immediately recall where it was from or if it was even real.

So... Do you guys write "linearly", or do you jump around a bit? What I mean is, do you start at the beginning, go word for word until the end, and then stop, or do you work more like doing a bit of Chapter 1, then a part in Chapter 4, then half of Chapter 2, then finishing Chapter 1, and so on?

I personally always write linearly. Mainly because I'm usually writing things off the top of my head, without ever writing down an outline or anything (Toriyama style! ) The most I might do is write down a line I want to have a character say at a later point. Otherwise, it all stays in my brain until I get to the point in the fic where those scenes are taking place (which, in some cases, has taken me literally years). Of course, there's always the danger that I'll forget some of the ideas I came up with by the time I get around to writing them down...on the other hand, I do feel it's easier to come up with additional ideas that might be better than what I had before, simply because I continue thinking about it, rather than putting it in an outline and going, yep, that's what I'm gonna do.

I don't recommend this lack of planning method to anyone, but it generally works for me

Not quite, but sort of. I mean, do you ever write a situation so well for the villain that you actually need to figure out how to stop him? Of course, you could use a character and say, "Oh yeah, I had this person. I'll use them to get out of this."

Not really since I already have how the heroes will get out of it already planned. Hell, usually the villain's plan is built around an action I want my Heroes to take.
