Still no official word on when the arc is ending, so we'll see how much longer. What with this whole Black's identity thing, it may only last a few more episodes.

I have a feeling this may end up another retelling of Goku's weaknesses. If zamasu is black, but a part of Goku is in there I can see Black letting/guiding the saiyans to higher powers just to get a good fight. Zamasu is pissed, wants him to finish them and he may be the new Babidi and Black destroys him (already claimed his rose form is strongest in the universe). Could even then convince Black to wait for the tournament to test his rose form with the greatest in the universe.


...still hoping there's a bunch to it we don't know and Zamasu isn't Black tho.

Just need another version of Black to show up at the obligatory celebration party at Capsule Corp, kidnap ChiChi fly her back to MT. Paozu, with Goku Giving chase, where he proceeds to Energy Blade her through the chest in front of her husband in the living room.

We have seen in the last episode that it's the opposite. Zamasu wants Black to take his time killing Goku so he can get the most out of him. Black just wants to kill Goku. He also had no problem teaming up with Zamasu to kill Goku. So far, Black is pragmatic. He isn't Cell.

I'm pretty certain that's Yamamuro. It does give us a good idea of Toriyama's design for Super Saiyan Rosé Black though, as Yamamuro's tend to be practically identical (traced?), just "cleaned up" a bit.

Really? Oh, I didn't know that. I suppose that explains the Yamamuro model for Black having nearly the same facial expression as Toriyama's.

Well, that's probably the most disappointing, uncreative, and nost anti-climactic origin anybody could have given Black. Not surprised.

I'm kind of hoping Toyotaro completely diverts from the manga here.

Before the start of the arc, I thought the idea of Goku Black was disappointing then it turned out to be one the better stories in Super. I'm looking forward to see how this whole Zamasu is Black (kinda) thing plays out before I pass judgment.

To be fair, a character being (re-)introduced is a different story. There's a clean slate there to work with. I found it stupid when people complained about Frieza being revived too because there was potential for a good story (though they did fail horribly with the execution and concept).

No matter how they reveal Zamasu swapping bodies and minds with Goku, the fact remains that this is quite literally the worst and most anti-climatic origin they could have chosen for Black.

Black being another Zamasu was kind of disappointing but at the same time I'm wondering why he wanted that body if he could attain all that strength in his normal body. Also why he chose the name Black as an alias, or perhaps Bulma and Trunks gave him that name. The arcs not over yet, but if he switched bodies only to have Goku's strength in my opinion they could have used the "Goku look a like villain" in a better way. I was really pulling for Goten.

This was already explained when Trunks provided the info dump to our main cast. Black calls himself "Son Goku", but Future Bluma decided to name him "Goku Black" because of his black clothing in order to prevent confusion. Trunks, and the other characters since, have taken to just calling him Black.

I just realized something funny. This will be the second time in the franchise that Goku got screwed over by powerful Dragon Balls.

Is there something interesting here in this latest issue of Saikyo Jump?

Some parts are too small/blurry to read in that picture, but the legible parts look to be all be hype text, explaining what's already happened and encouraging viewers to tune in and see what happens next. Basically just an advertisement for the arc that doesn't reveal anything we don't know (unless the less visible parts have something, but with this type of advertisement I doubt there're any spoilers/new information). Hopefully the upcoming episode will answer all (or at least most!) of our questions

That is Yamamuro. They have different line-making characteristics.

No Toriyama artwork for Rose and Future Mai makes this really fishy in regards to whether Toriyama created them imo. Of course, I don't think Toei would change Toriyama's outline that drastically as to include a new form, but you'd think we'd see it by now instead of Yamamuro's.

As others have noted, that's Yamamuro's character design, not Toriyama's. The Zamasu and Mai are also his.

Yamamuro draws awful lego-man hair. Toriyama draws beautiful flowy hair. Ugh, I wish the anime didn't have such awful designs.
