The Trunks and Black shot is great.
I'm actually curious as to whether it's a conscious decision from the photography department.

On Tiger Mask, they've been digitally applying line thickness and a brush-like texture to the regular art work:

Probably not, but a possibility, at least.

Animation was good on the close-ups, but really undetailed on the zoomed-out shots. Couple requests, though I can only remember one, which is the shot of Goku right after Beerus gets dragged away by Whis.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, also Zamasu & Black meeting in the NEP.

I assume Toei plans to add Wanpack handled episodes without a series main supervisor to the rotation now. While I'm certainly less negative on this episode than some, it still could have been a lot better. Next time Wanpack handles an episode I hope Kinoshita Yui heads it, though there was little in this episode her art is fantastic. JoJo part 4 is nearing it's end, so hopefully Toei can get her to head future wanpack episodes, even if that starts after this arc is over.

Talking about Tiger Mask I watched it today and it looked really good in my opinion. (Sorry for mentioning it in this thread :D)

While we are talking about thick lines, looks like precure had thick lines too.

Interesting, that's certainly a possibility. It could be an attempt to make the show look less sterile, and it certainly works. If this is the case I still think the improved schedule is likely the reason we are seeing it more, Super's schedule before now definitely wasn't in a position to do much post work on the art, something we all know too well. I actually do hope you're right, as the schedule continues to improve we might see variable line thickness more and more, adding to the show's look and moving us away from Yamamuro's sterile look.

The long lost long faces of DBZ. This shot is definitely great looking. The eyes are very DBZ as well. Is this Kinoshita Yui?

So since Yamamuro didn't work on the new ending, is it safe to assume that he's possibly working on a future episode for this arc? I know a lot of people don't like him, but I'd like another on-model episode with some nice fight choreography like Episode 13. It wouldn't hurt to have an episode like that every once in a while. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Tate and Shimanuki and I definitely prefer their stuff over Yamamuro's work, but sometimes I want a Super episode that's visually similar to the likes of Episode 13.

One of three situations I think.
1. He's working on an episode (or TV special)
2. He's working on a new movie
3. (The least likely) he's slowly reducing his role in the series, potentially getting ready to step down.

The thing that scares me about the potential of Yamamuro supervising is that it would likely be a big episode and I'm afraid that Toei would manage to get another big animator on board and Yamamuro would over correct their work and make them not want to come back.

I'm probably just wrong about Takeo Ide working on Xenoverse 2. Chances are Yamamuro supervised the opening and cutscenes for that. Would certainly explain his absence.

I dunno, the Time Patrol scene and the destroyed city scene that we've seen for XV2 don't really look like him to me.

I kinda liked this shot too. (I believe it's not really common to see this perspective) Image
There were some really good Black shots in this episode.

Hopefully Ootsuka Ken will provide some key animation in the next episode. Super excited for #61.

Notice how Black looked on model and the rest , especially Goku did not. This ep was just not visually engaging at all.

It's good but the unevenness is jarring to me. Just look at how on the left side of his face(from our pov) the line goes up towards his ear too early, making it assymmerrical with the right side of his face.
Hope I explained that well enough...

Mini-Shida's already paired with him twice doesn't seem to have scared him off. But what if he gets paired with Shida? Is that why Shida took a 3 year absence cuz Yamamuro corrected his stuff in BoG?

For some reason, all the time and attention was put into making every shot of Black's face look great
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.
