Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
From what we've seen so far, Black doesn't have all of Goku's memories, if any. He knew Kamehameha & Shunkan Ido ever since his first appearance, but sensing & masking his ki was something he had recently learned when he first appeared, and he learned Goku's fighting style & how to become a Super Saiyan after he fought Goku. Seeing how he can mimic techniques, it's possible that he had seen Kamehameha & Shunkan Ido before and learned them, instead of learning them through Goku's memories. There are still mysteries around Black, so we better wait & see.Cetra wrote:Of course he knows how Capsules work. He has Goku's moves therefore his memories.ryou766 wrote:They can't "destroy it anytime". First, Black nor Zamasu doesn't even know that the time machine comes in a capsule; so unless they destroyed Trunks' jacket or if the capsule fell out and coincidentally revealed the time machine, they have no way of knowing. The first time Black saw the time machine, it was just sitting there. He doesn't know how capsules work.Cetra wrote:No one ever denied that. It does not change the fact that they could destroy it any time in the future with such moves. They probably will not but if they were smart they would do so and if they were even smarter they would have already done that during battle because even a battle does not forbid them to use an explosion-like move.
If it doesn't work on gods, how did Piccolo seal God with the Mafuba?Xeztin wrote:I have a feeling that the Mafuba will fail on Gods and Goku will be the one that ends up getting sealed in some-kind of reverse technique. Actually, that'd be sort of nice for once. I feel like this arc wants us to feel as helpless as possible for Goku and co.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

We shouldn't take Kami's position of "God" too literally. If nothing else, it's more than likely just a title seeing as he's the literal overseer of Earth. He isn't an actual God.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:If it doesn't work on gods, how did Piccolo seal God with the Mafuba?

If my memory serves me correctly, Takeshi Kusao (Trunks' VA, present AND future) himself even said in an interview that was conducted 1-2 weeks before the Black arc/Zamasu arc had even started that in this arc you'd get a creeping feeling of "Is there any way they're going win this time?"Xeztin wrote:I have a feeling that the Mafuba will fail on Gods and Goku will be the one that ends up getting sealed in some-kind of reverse technique. If I find the link to the interview, I'll try to post it.

The Super anime seems to support it being more than a title as Dende could sense Beerus when the others couldn't. Piccolo could also sense something divine with Supreme Kai too if you need evidence from a more consistent source than Supers anime (not that I can blame you).ryou766 wrote:We shouldn't take Kami's position of "God" too literally. When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

By that logic none of the gods in Dragon Ball should be taken literally.ryou766 wrote:We shouldn't take Kami's position of "God" too literally. That's true. But in Piccolo's case, I wouldn't say that he sensed anything divine, he didn't automatically come to the conclusion that the Kaioshin was a God. He first assumed that he was an alien of some sorts (Chapter 244). With Dende, how could that work? He wasn't always a God since birth until Goku brought him to Earth to become the new overseer. It wasn't any special ritual or anything, he was just literally given the task to become the new "God" and recreate Shenron. That's why I'm just leaning towards it just being a title if anything.ekrolo2 wrote:The Super anime seems to support it being more than a title as Dende could sense Beerus when the others couldn't. No? We know there's more to Beerus' role as a God than just being a title. For Kami, he was just given the task to oversee Earth by the previous God.Draconic wrote:By that logic none of the gods in Dragon Ball should be taken literally.

That's not entirely true.Makai wrote:I hate how Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks are the only three who have did anything this whole arc.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
For this Black arc you can't really say that Goku, Trunks, and Vegeta are the only people doing anything because people like Bulma, Beerus, Whis, Kaioshin etc. have had a pretty large presense as well. While I'd like to see more involvement from the old cast in Super, you kind of just have to take it for what it is.Makai wrote:I hate how Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks are the only three who have did anything this whole arc.

Only if you work under the false dichotomy of "doing something = throwing punches & kicks".Makai wrote:I hate how Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks are the only three who have did anything this whole arc.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.
So Zamasu didn't truly die? R.I.P most of the previous theories, then. There's still a lot to be explained, though.
We don't need to use Spoilers, I don't think.
Interesting. Makes sense, though. Present Zamasu's death was so fast. How does Black know Vegeta, though?

Definitely but we're slowly getting answers though. Expect a good chunk to be answered next episode since we're getting flashbacks.nite_jay wrote:
So Zamasu didn't truly die? R.I.P most of the previous theories, then. There's still a lot to be explained, though.
