Goku should not have the time to learn mafuba as Trunks is about to be killed, so that is why Piccolo, instead of just suggesting Mafuba should do it himself.

They broke the "you can only enter the Room of Spirit in Time twice" rule already so they can just make Goku go in again once more to learn it if they really need time, in theory at least.

This would just be stealing from a great Piccolo, Tien nd Roshi if Goku learns it and I do not like the idea of that one bit.

Yeah I know you like Piccolo but at this point he is most likely not going to do it and the others either or it would have been mentioned in other episode summaries. So you should not get your hopes up. Just imagine how easy it would be to defeat those Mafuba users. And how should the others defend him? If they get in his way they are gonna get sucked in like Drum.

Get creative. Piccolo can use materialisation sorcery, yes? Well have him conjure a makeshift Katchin encasement that's implanted deeply within the surrounding terrain. It should protect against external trauma. This would be a good time for allowing Kaioshin to contribute with his own teleportaion skills. Should either Black or Zamasu attempt to enter via their own means of teleportation, Kaioshin could use Kai-Kai to relocate Piccolo and the Katchin encasement to a nearby locality in the area. Once the technique is ready, Kaioshin can relocate the Katchin away from Piccolo's field of vision. It's entrapment of the enemy from there. Not only does this method provide for an effective defencive barrier, it's also a clever utilisation of a previously seen object with a considerable amount of hype surrounding it. It's also coincident with the nostalgic ambiance which the writers seem to be vying for by introducing retro concepts.

How Tenshinhan would succeed is a bit more straightforward. A simple Taiyoken coupled with Mafuba preparation would suffice. It's Roshi's participation that poses the biggest quandary because he lacks any natural abilities for protecting himself against attack. The closest alternative would be hypnosis, though there's no way he could entrance Zamasu or Black in time with how monumentally enormous the power gap is between them.

Nothing in the spoilers mention Piccolo in the future. Goku and Vegeta have the Mafuba conversation with him when they return to the past.

First, Goku is stronger than all the fighters who knows the Evil Containment Wave put together, so why do something so cumbersome when one person can do the exact same thing and is more powerful.

Second, Goku isn't going to let his friends die doing a technique where he can do it himself and only he dies.

Third, four people can barely fit into the time machine so I don't know why fans keep talking about bringing all these people. And back to one, Goku is still more powerful than all of them.

Also on a thought, do Piccolo actually knows the Evil Containment Wave? He knows how to reverse it, but it was never shown that he can actually do the technique.

Something must happen as they return to the future quickly so maybe Piccolo is there along with Bulma who has to be there but is not mentioned.

Piccolo is huge. Cell needed to revert back to an egg to travel back. Goku, Trunks and Vegeta as well as Bulma barely fit into the time machine and you think just because Trunks is not in the time machine for that one time someone as huge as Piccolo fits in?

And that is just one of the problems (note that problem can be written out with Bulma's shrinking device but I think we will never see it again).

Episode 62 seems like Goku and Vegeta return and for some reason Piccolo is there and he suggests Mufabu. According to the episode 62 preview card they learn it from Roshi and not Piccolo. It seems like I should get ready for some more forced Goku attention to make him look better.

Why is it that Goku can learn other people's moves but no one can learn his like instant transmission and Kaioken. They can not defend this nonsense even if I have not seen the episodes yet.

Mufabu definitely seems like the only way they can win and I also think fused Black and Zamasu will probably look more like Zamasu thn Black.

And will Goku learn quickly the Mafuba? That's the only way I can see if when they come back to the future AGAIN, Trunks has not been murdered yet, for f***'s sake. This is really ruining the arc for me.

Unless Goku is able to master the Mafuba in less than a day, it would be chronologically impractical for him to learn it. The Mafuba is a complex technique involving the emission of all the genki within a person's body to generate an aeolian current that ensnares the victim and then carries them into a container laced with magical sealing charms. Does Goku even have experience with fields of ability involving magic? I think it took days for Tenshinhan to learn it. As far as I know, Goku's ability to imitate techniques hasn't been shown to be any better than Tenshinhan's.

Concerning Goku's unwillingness to allow his friends to risk their own lives -- it might actually be more reasonable to allow someone else to perform the ritual. This frees up Goku's efforts so he can work alongside Trunks and Vegeta in defending whoever is performing the Mafuba. Moreover, Goku has already been resurrected once by Earth's Dragonballs, so it would be impossible for him to be revived again. Besides that, dying in the future implies that his soul would be sent to the future afterlife and not the one in the present. Both Kaioshin and Beerus are dead in the future so they can't teleport to Namek in order to use their Dragonballs. Unless the group decided to travel back to the past, ask Kaioshin to come with them to the future, return to that timeline, and then have Kaioshin teleport them to New Namek, they would be stranding Goku's deceased self in the future with no means of returning to the present timeline.

I can think of two ways for allowing more people to fit in the time machine, even with Bulma riding along. The first is the Micro Band that Bulma bartered with Roshi. Duplicating this device should be easy for Bulma. One can be given to Piccolo and the other to Kaioshin. Together once they've shrunken down to a more sizably conducive stature they can be carried in the pockets of one of the time traveling characters. They come along to the future and return to normal size, easy as that. The second method is a bit more complicated but possible. It involves Buu using his antenna beam to alter the composition of Piccolo and Kaioshin into smaller and more manageable objects. Since Buu is easily capable of changing his own composition to whatever he wants, he could ride with the others to the future and then change Piccolo and Kaioshin back into their normal selves. This also provides Buu as another ally in the future, for however much good he could offer.

They didnt leave Trunks by choice. Trunks sent them back to find a way of victory.

Taking them to the battle field is dangerous. One touch by Black and they're likely dead. Goku, Vegeta and Trunks are the strongest they have it makes sense one of them would have to learn it.
