here's a drawing of Timato: my Saiyan from Xenoverse (well just the head of the character) with a tweaked hairstyle based on how I normally draw myself. I drew this last night but due to my scanner not working i had to use my phone to get it to my PC. afterwards I did an rough multiply color layer and some minor tweaks for the end result. I'll get around to doing a proper coloring as well as an full body piece when I can get my scanner working to my desktop.

Haha, no thanks. If Super suddenly started following the BS FUNi dub script changes, it would be dead to me.

Showing a different side of a character isn't BS.
A side that's quoting a line of dialog that was completely fabricated by the dub about Freeza making Vegeta the way he was, when Saiyans were always that way, is BS.

It isn't showing a different side of the character though. It's going along with a fabricated lie that depicts the Saiyajins to be martyrs or something, when they aren't at all.

I know they weren't but we've seen Vegeta drop his tough guy act in the past so would it be that surprising for him to show that he cared about his father ?
Would it be surprising for Vegeta to think to himself that if he didn't grow up under Freeza he might've been someone else ? someone happy like Goku and everyone else ?

I'm not denying that he wouldn't care a small bit, but full out crying? Not at all. Saiyajins were shown to care more about power, rather than the notion of things like love or family. And the thing is, almost everytime Vegeta has broken down, it's almost always about power.

Look how he reacted to Bulma getting hit and with Trunks before he blew himself up, he may care about power but I think he should've showed a different side of himself when he saw Freeza.
Freeza killed him, his father and blew up his planet yet he acted like nothing when he saw him. you could say he just didn't care anymore but I think it was more of Toriyama not caring to try anything new.

But it's been shown that most Saiyajins literally cared only about power. Like I said, things such as family or love were considered trivial to them.
Just look at his reaction when Dodoria told him the truth. The guy really could have cared less what happened to his family. At the time, he didn't care about that kinda stuff. Later on, did. He cares about Trunks and Bulma now. He's developed more as a person. The Vegeta from the Namek arc and the Vegeta from BOG are different. So, comparing their actions won't really work.
In the end, I wouldn't doubt that the particular dialogue in that fanart is completely inspired from Funi's atrocity. And power to you if you like it, but it's trying to make g the character out to be something he's not. That's the main problem I have with it. It's not showing a different side at all. It's just trying to insert something that was never there to begin with.

But for some reason he was acting like his old self, not his Buu arc/BOG self.
The guy who killed him, his father who was the strongest person on the planet at the time and destroyed the planet he was destined to rule yet...he has no reaction ?

Pretty much. Vegeta could probably care less about what happened to his dad. Don't get me wrong though, I do think Vegeta should've been ticked off and annihilated Freeza anyway. I honestly don't like ROF in general at all. Neither the movie nor the Super arc.

I forgot about that. But I'm referring to his general personality in the movie and arc. He's not as friendly as he should be, and a tad (not a whole lot) too serious for how he was during the Kid Buu fight.
Of course, this is coming from someone who's barely watched any of the Majin Saga...
Hey guys. I've been in the IRC for a while, so some of you might know me already. Here is a piccolo sketch I did a while back. Glad to finally be a member of the forums. If this is in the wrong place I'd appreciate it if someone gently informed me.
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.
