I'm gonna do it whether you disapprove or not ( ), but just curiously, what do you guys think about this idea?
Currently have some ideas for a GT fic about Goku being in school, and it's going to essentially be a joke rewrite of the series. Baby and the other villains will still show up eventually... but that's not the point. My point is I'm going to have Omega Shenron say "Omega" every time he would say "end". When he formally introduces himself, he'll accidentally say "End Shenron" and scramble to correct himself. Sound like it'd be humorous to you?

Sounds interesting, at the very least.

They don't seem totally evil compared to Frieza. For them, Namek was just another job.

Besides, they couldn't disobey Frieza even if they wanted to. He'd kill them in a heartbeat.

Oh sweet there's a general fanfiction thread now.

So I'm going to go back through and check out any links anyone posted, but in the mean time, here is my own bit of shameless self promotion. I'm working on a fanfic titled "Illumination" (link: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/4835865/1/Illumination ) that stars Mirai Trunks in his timeline after he's defeated the androids and later Cell (it begins when he is 25). Long story short, Earth makes contact with the wider universe and while out and about on one of these planets Trunks gets into some trouble by accidentally helping a gangster rob a mercenary. It's a little slow in the beginning (first five chapters or so) because I have to do a lot of world building, BUT there is definitely an overarching plot and it starts to form early.

Anyway, fair warning: this fanfic is about Trunks in the future timeline and features a veritable crap-ton of original characters and locations, so if you don't like that sort of thing, I'm not offended if you don't want to read it. If you do read the fic, or try, and lose interest or just hate it, feel free to leave a review. I'm not super sensitive to criticism so I will live, trust me.

An interesting dive into Kuriza's response to Frieza's genocide of the Saiyans (he's on Cooler's ship watching):

"Ah, look at him! What foolishness! He's so pleased with that himself he's blinded by his arrogant pride! That could be King Vegeta on that space pod for all he knows!" Cooler chuckled.
"I hate Daddy..." Kuriza whimpered.
"Good boy."

Cooler doesn't realize, of course, that Kuriza hates him too.

One more change:

-After Buu Saga, Supreme Kai goes to Universe 6, gathers the Super Dragon Balls, and revives the other four Supreme Kais. However, part of his wish is Mr. Buu staying as is. So we have Mr. Buu staying...fat while Grand Supreme Kai comes back.

Oh, and North Kai, Bubbles, and Gregory are revived with the rest of Cell's victims.

I know this may be one of the weirdest things to ask, but how do you guys feel about made-up special (traditional, even) greetings? Something as simple as a hug, or something as complicated as a handshake/bow ritual of sorts.

I have two to add to the list. First is "Broken Down Universe" by dragonbabezee. (Link: http://archiveofourown.org/works/914223 ... rs/1772307 ) It's AMAZING. Fair warning, there is Bulma/Vegeta smut, but the overall story is incredible. If you like fics about the alternate future or just DB stuff involving time travel, this is a must read.

And despite my feelings about the author, "Point of No Return" by niteryde is really good. (Link: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5785965/1/ ... -No-Return ) It's a great "what if" about future Trunks if his time machine went back too far in time and he met his father while Vegeta was still working under Frieza. It's a really great fic.

Frigid Future, Frigid Future, Frigid Future. A very well written story of the alternate timeline if they never created the time machine, with Cooler coming to Earth for Revenge and plenty of badass Gohan.

For my fellow posters on fanfiction.net, how much success do you guys have with it?

I've been on there a long time, and it's definitely a good place to get maximum exposure. The only Dragon Ball story I've written (so far...planning something soon, though!) still gets hundreds of visitors a month, despite the fact that it was completed more than two years ago (especially in the overcrowded category of VegeBul getting together stories, I don't know how people keep finding it!). I feel like in the old days, readers would give more feedback than they do now; before they had "follows", "favorites" and all that, I think people used to actually review more often, rather than just hitting a button to show they liked something. Which, I suppose, can be a good ego boost to see how many people added you/your stories to their favorites, but it somehow feels less meaningful than someone taking the time to say, "wow, I really liked x about your story!"
