Super Animation Catalogue 2.0
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 61
I was a little bit itchy during the fight between Trunks and Black/Zamas, but it wasn't that bad after all. Reminded me of Pokemon Indigo League level of animation, with those backgrounds and repeated cuts. Could've been worse.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 61
Jesus if this episode was an example of "bad animation day" then please keep it coming!!!
This episode was great. Yeah the art wasn't perfect but man, if that's an example of bad animated episode then I am just fine.
I survived Golden arc this is a masterpiece compare to it.
Also is it me or Tate made a "shida-like" scene? The fluidity of the scene in the preview looked like something Shida would make. If Tate can do that in a limited amount of time omg...my man Tate is turning into an animation shida-monster

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 61
The animation in this episode wasn't that good and even bad at some parts, low fps, stiff movements off model art, but it wasn't that bad either. I can live with an epiosde like this once in a while.
NEP looks phenomenal for DBS standards, I can't wait to see Vegeta kicking some ass, I hope he is.
Also I've made my version of SSJB aura, what do you think?

One thing I noticed in this episode is they used bank animation. More specifically, for when Black and Zamasu fire ki blast that eventually merge together to form one giant ki ball.

Kitano needs to be removed from super. He sucks.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Beggars can't be choosers. When it comes to animators, Super are feeding off of scraps as it is and really can't afford to lose any animators.kinisking wrote:Kitano needs to be removed from super. He sucks.

Be ready to add another "notable cut" in Tate's department, Ajay. That Trunks vs Black fight looks amazing.BakaManiaHD wrote:NEP looks AWESOME!

1) I don't get why people still complaining about RoF arc. It had just one really bad episode in terms of animation (Kitano's episode #24)... but we have that memorable Tate's #26 episode and some Shimanuki's and Manabe's that stand alone with great work, and the introduction was really, really good.Mazingerdestro wrote:Jesus if this episode was an example of "bad animation day" then please keep it coming!!!

2) I don't know what you mean with "Shida-like scene" regarding Tate's cut in NEP. That's just pure Tate. Shida is crazier. It's comparing The White Album with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band.

Id rather him he switched with a supervisor from another anime if possibleLord Beerus wrote:Beggars can't be choosers. When it comes to animators, Super are feeding off of scraps as it is and really can't afford to lose any animators.kinisking wrote:Kitano needs to be removed from super. He sucks.

That will only happen if one of Toei's on-going anime projects ends, leaving animators up for grabs for other different shows under Toei's umbrella.kinisking wrote:Id rather him he switched with a supervisor from another anime if possibleLord Beerus wrote:Beggars can't be choosers. Kitano's not bad as a supervisor, the problem comes when he has to do lots of animation.

1)Personally I didn't like anything that involved fight between Frieza's army, Frieza and Z....I mean super fighters. Also I hate bad art and instead I can survive with less animation and better art.PMD wrote:Be ready to add another "notable cut" in Tate's department, Ajay. 2) The sword scene looked extremely fluid at some point. In terms of fluidity it was for 1-2 secs 10/10.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 61
You are great Prognosticator ! Got it spot-on last week.ArchedThunder wrote: This coming episode will probably be the worst of this block of action, but to be fair to Kitano he only has 6 weeks since his last episode and he did a lot of animation in that one and the roughness of the Trunks stuff in the NEP makes me think he's doing a lot of animation again. I wouldn't be surprised if they are saving their animators for the episodes after Kitano's.
The fight in the first half was pretty disappointing. Thank goodness it was pretty short though, because I really want to see a well animated fight showcasing Trunk's newfound power and going by the NEP, it looks like we are definitely gonna get one. Not gonna lie, the NEP looked great. Second half was OK. At the very least the art in this arc has been pretty decent and a bit more consistent. They have done well to cut corners in this arc. I mean they have maintained a decent level of art despite having a short amount of staff for exposition heavy episodes like #51 to #55 and #58 to #60, and then dedicating a large amount of staff for important episodes like we saw in #47, #48, #49, #50, #56, #57 and probably #61(though I am not particularly sure about this one). This has been a pattern since they ended the U6 arc. #62 falls in the former category. Though I don't mind them doing this once in a while. It was pretty much like what they did with the Goku vs Zamasu fight in #53.
Wasn't Tate supposed to do #65 ? Is he with Manabe ? Because it definitely looked like him from the preview. He is also doing #65 along with Ishikawa, right ? Please correct me if I am mistaken.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 61
The ART in this episode was actually GOOD and pretty consistent throughout the whole thing, now THE ANIMATION in the first 10 or 15 minutes wasn't anything impressive. Now, like someone said earlier, if this is bad animation day, then Super has improved a lot!!
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 61
Thankfully, the episodes with bad animation from now will be like this episode or episode 59 that was outsourced if I recall well.

Since we're on a new page, I'll just leave this here in case.
Whenever someone gets an HD version, I'd like the shot of Bulma in the background with Beerus in the foreground, when she was railing on him.

59 was done all in house and looked fine, you're probably thinking of 60 which was outsourced.Alee9977 wrote:Thankfully, the episodes with bad animation from now will be like this episode or episode 59 that was outsourced if I recall well.
But yeah, as far as the "bad" looking episodes go this was so much better than 24 and 45, and really it was only the future stuff that looked "bad".
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 61
Looking back on it, it wasn't even that bad. Dissapointing, yes. But not bad. There were some good shots, trunks explosion that hit black and became a pillar of fire looked badass, all the present stuff looked fine too.ArchedThunder wrote:59 was done all in house and looked fine, you're probably thinking of 60 which was outsourced.Alee9977 wrote:Thankfully, the episodes with bad animation from now will be like this episode or episode 59 that was outsourced if I recall well.
