How does it feel to ACTUALLY see such a power in action? By someone else?
Black's ever-increasing power
Black's ever-increasing power
It just occurred to me that it's pretty much what Broly's fans have always thought him to have.

Re: Black's ever-increasing power
About as dumb as I always assumed it would be. Hell, even Broly kind of had that whole mutant freak thing built into his character from the start, there's literally no good reason for Black to get this strong unless you're willing to break everything Z setup.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Re: Black's ever-increasing power
He's just taking advantage of zenkai, an ability all Saiyans have. Couple that with the fact that he's a Kaioshin and probably has healing abilities, and he can increase his strength quickly by taking damage from a strong opponent.
Re: Black's ever-increasing power
Perfect Zenkai, that's my name for it. From the small tidbits of information we've gotten it's Zenkai taken to the extreme. Why it occurs? Because Zamasu is a God, the assumption being that because he's a creator of life, he can use all the potential of life.
This explanation seems to align with what has been said. Maybe the manga will offer another reason.
The idea isn't bad at all, it's easy to swallow Gods are Gods after all. It's nice to see a "Saiyan" villain use it's characteristic's to the maximum to take an advantage, in this case Zenkai and Super Saiyan.

I think Cell would like a word with you.LightBing wrote:Perfect Zenkai, that's my name for it.
But in all seriousness, I agree. This just seems like Zenkai up to eleven. In the virtue that with every battle and every injury sustained, Black (Zamasu) instantly becomes stronger.

Indeed. Super Saiyan Rosé is regular Super Saiyan for Black. And it's just Zenkai taken to the extreme. He also seems to possess instant-healing aswell. Majing him a force to be reckoned with! Perfect-Zenkai!
1. Instant Healing
2. Instant Zenkai
3. He can copy any technique he sees just once.

Re: Black's ever-increasing power
I don't think it's a near death boost. Saiyans are also said to just get stronger the more they fight. Even Toriyama's interview about God Goku, Beerus and Whis' powers mentioned that if Goku and Beerus' fight had continued, he could have potentially turned the the battle in his favor.
Compared to Beerus, God of Destruction, how strong is [Super Saiyan] God?
I suppose if Beerus’ strength is a 10, [Super Saiyan] God would be right about 6. Only, Saiyans rapidly increase in strength as they fight against strong opponents, so the longer they fought, the more that gap would shrink, and it might even be possible for them to eventually turn the tables. Incidentally, I guess Whis would be about a 15.

True. But he did mention "the more it gets beaten up, the more it's power rises" about a saiyans body.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I don't think it's a near death boost. Re: Black's ever-increasing power
It makes no sense. I see people mentioning healing ,but this is never stated or shown in the show. Black just gets a boner when he gets smacked around, and then, two seconds later, gets a massive unexplained strength boost and calmly grins. He has Goku's body. Goku never exhibited this feat. It's just thrown in there as an excuse to keep the villain relevant in a show with characters that should be OP. God knows what the hell SSJR is either. Zamasu simply wished to have his mind inside Goku's body, no? How is he tapping into his own ki and not Goku's? How come Goku couldn't do the same when he possessed Zamasu's body. asdasdasdasd
In the case of Broly, just from the appearance of the form and his never-ending rage, it just felt...fitting (if he did have this ability, that is). I don't know how to explain it. That said, his origin was fucking stupid and managed to ruin the entire character from the very beginning. Broly should have just been the progenitor super saiyan who destroyed the original saiyan home world. Zenkai and the SSJ forms could all derive from him, kind of like how chakra originated from Kaguya in Naruto.

Re: Black's ever-increasing power
Toriyama's comment isn't totally asinine since I'm gonna assume sparring with a strong opponent is precisely why Goku and Gohan get so strong to say fight Cell. However, Saiyan's were never shown getting this strong during a single battle. During many, frequent fights for training purposes sure but Black's thing is freaking ridiculous. It's not even a Zenkai because he doesn't heal from his injures. If he were immortal and that somehow screwed his body up to give him some weird Zenkai cycle that might make sense but he's not: he just doesn't really get damaged at all and powers up for no good reason that doesn't involve half-assed headcanon shit or retconning Z so Super doesn't look stupid.

It's not stated, but it's obvious that's exactly what he's doing.
Goku doesn't have a Kaioshin skill set.Goku never exhibited this feat.
The type of ki a character uses doesn't seem to come just from their genetics, but from experience and knowledge. Goku and Vegeta aren't Gods, for example, but they learned to use God ki, so I see no reason Black shouldn't know how to use the same ki he used in his other body.Zamasu simply wished to have his mind inside Goku's body, no? I'm sure he could have, but he was so confused by what was going on, he didn't have a chance. How come Goku couldn't do the same when he possessed Zamasu's body. asdasdasdasd

When Ginyu swapped bodies with Goku, he didn't have access to his own ki.The type of ki a character uses doesn't seem to come just from their genetics, but from experience and knowledge. I don't know how to feel cause I don't even know what it is or why he has it, it's another case of something happening purely because the writers want it to happen.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Re: Black's ever-increasing power
This very thing takes a bit of enjoyment away..
Same body, same genetics then power increase that rapid without any explanation ticks me off..
I am just assuming as he is a God he knows how to get saiyan's "more you fight stronger you become" ability to really work.. Like he took it to extremes..
If our saiyan's learn to do that.. That's it for super.. No villan will be possible anymore.. So I am guessing it's a God thing..

Re: Black's ever-increasing power
But Goku and Vegeta are Gods aswell. They posses God Ki and Goku even became a litteral God in the Beerus Saga. So why wouldn't they be able to do it?
Re: Black's ever-increasing power
Goku and Vegeta aren't gods in the sense Beerus and Zamasu are. They share characteristics, yes, but they're ultimately not recognized as official deities nor would you extrapolate they have position simply due to their strength. It's remarked by Goku Black that he can reach heights Goku himself never could. Goku Black may be using Goku's body, but it ceased to be exclusive with Goku's traits once it merged with himself. It doesn't mean the Saiyan duo can eventually mimic Goku Black's capabilities.

Re: Black's ever-increasing power
Fair enough. So it's more about the spirit who possess it's body. Black has Zamasu's spirit inside him who controls it's powerful body. While Goku and Vegeta are in the end still the same of spirit. Only their bodies have god ki now.Nejishiki wrote:Goku and Vegeta aren't gods in the sense Beerus and Zamasu are. Re: Black's ever-increasing power
What's really funny about it is, it's supposed to be through zenkai boost. Pretty much he is using a saiyan character trait, but zenkai doesn't work like that. The boost is only received if a saiyan recovers from being within an inch of their life, yet Black just receives a couple of hits and he automatically becomes stronger. (Not having even recovered from his injuries) So I'm confused as to how that works. It would have made slightly more sense if Black was immortal. If anyone harmed him, his body would automatically recover just like his counterpart, thus enacting an infinite zenkai boost.

Muah ah ah...
You forgot to mention the fact that Black body is Goku one.
So, the stronger past Goku became each time, the stronger is Black.
It double in strenght each time they clash. The more Black damage Goku, the stronger he get... Very interesting.
