Whis previously joked with Goku that he was strong and could take over for Beerus if he ever needed a new God of Destruction. However Goku declined due to not being the type to destroy.
Now the Kai's are connected to the God's of Destruction. So would this count for a new one, for example Goku?
I mean, if Goku become the Destruction God and then the kai died... Would Goku just keel over and die or disappear?
Thoughts?

If Goku officially became a Hakaishin and his Kaioshin died, he would die. I don't think any special exception would be made for Goku.

Yeah there would definitely some initiation or ritual necessary to formally induct Goku as the God of Destruction, he might even be granted new powers, and the Kaioshin link would be established then.

There's a new sense of irony behind Goku's victory over Zamasu as it would coincide with the trainee's universal belief of the natural order. Goku's childish attitude may irritate him nonetheless.
