Did Zarbon and Dodoria outrank the Ginyu Force?

Not in terms of power, but when it comes to position in the PTO, were Zarbon and Dodoria higher-ranking than the Ginyu Force (and by extension Avo & Cado and Cooler's Armored Squadron)?

That is, did the Ginyu Force also answer to Zarbon & Dodoria, or did they ONLY answer to Frieza and his family?

I believe the Ginyu Force were mercs that were mainly employed to the PTO. As such they were out of the chain of command. No Rank.

I think Zarbon and Dodoria were Officers and the Ginyu Force were the most elite of enlisted soldiers. Think of the Ginyu Force as the Navy SEALS, with Ginyu being the Captain, while Zarbon and Dodoria were Admirals, while Frieza was the Commander-in-Chief. Officer ranks are different from enlisted soldier ranks in most militaries. The highest rank an enlisted soldier can get in the Navy is Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy while the highest Officer Rank in the Navy is Admiral/Fleet Admiral. They go up different ladders in rank. Oh and Commander-in-Chief would be someone who commands all of the armed forces: Navy, Airforce, Army, etc.

I think Ginyu himself answered directly to Freeza, but the others were out of rank. So I guess, Ginyu probably outranked Zarbon and Dodoria, and the others weren't directly in the army, so neither had any actual power over the Force.

I'd see Zarbon and Dodoria as "above" the Ginyu Force in the respect of them being the "Right hand men" so to speak.

Ginyu Force were strictly considered special forces called in only when it is necessary. I see them more as hired hitters than a legitimate part of the Frieza Army.
