Wow that destroys the tone real fast and this is supposed to be the equivalent to the sausage scenes in the anime . I also hate the constant eating in the anime but I also hate the random cart racing. Atleast the forced eating scenes aren't completely random I mean they eat all the time.
Technically the manga is quiet behind the anime, but it's still a great supplement to the events presented in the show. Fo eg. it was first stated in the manga that Black is from some other timeline (know we know more from the show) or that Beers is dead in Trunks' timeline. Also ch. 16 gave as a lot of flashbacks which weren't featured in the anime, I mean how Trunks trained with Kaioshins or how he obtained SSJ2 for the first time. Also his fight with Dabura is extended in the manga version. Moreover, we know from manga something that wasn't stated in the show - that Trunks mastered SSJ2 to the power lvl of SSJ3 without transforming into 3. I think it's quiet an important information.
Other example of manga being great supplement to the show - we know from manga the disadvantages and more details of SSJ Blue transformation. And we know that Goku still can go SSJ God after all
+ It's nice how Toyatoro shows the same events but a little different. Like Goku vs Hit - I like anime's idea of SSJ Blue Kaio Ken, but I think I liked more the manga version of this fight
So, to get a full picture you have to know both manga and anime
The comic can stay behind the animated series because the animated series keeps dragging the story out, likely because they're both waiting for Toriyama to come up with the plot for another story arc. I imagine the comic will speed up once the animated series ends its adaption of Toriyama's notes and can move on to another Toriyama-outlined arc.
Akira Toriyama wrote:My policy is to try and forget things once they’re over. Since if I don’t discard the old and focus on what’s new, I’ll overload my brain capacity. I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Go-karts happens after Zamasu and Gowasu return from the barbarian thing. Go karts is a game console game they were playing. Kid Trunks wins followed by Future Trunks, Beerus, Goku, Pilaf, Mai, the racoon dog and Vegeta. Next is the KamiTube scene with that weird computer, followed by Future Trunks & Vegeta training. Goku does some separate training too, then as shown in the pics they head to Zeno.

That doesn't make sense since the Toriyama finished writing the Future Trunks Saga back in February. Why would they need to drag when Toriyama had months to write a follow up and the anime was still in the Champa Saga during that time.
And it weird to hear about padding in the anime when Chapter 16 had the padding of Future Majin Buu that could have been skipped.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

Many thanks!
Now that I know it's them playing a videogame I really wish that was in the anime too. (What with TFS doing Let's Plays as Vegeta, Gokû, Krillin, etc.).

So everything happens quickly. Which, by this point, is something good. I want to see Toyotaro's version over Trunks "new form" (if that form ever make its way in the manga version, that is).

This is the same guy who would do an entire week's worth of work in a single night just to be able to procrastinate for a week and do nothing but watch movies or build models. Logic does not apply to Toriyama Akira. He has evolved past it.

That was when he was doing a weekly manga. You can't really compare that to writing an outline or a script, which he's probably getting some help or advice on. So them padding out episodes makes little sense since they outlined episode breakdown when they were still in the Champa Saga, which didn't end until April if we don't count the breather episodes. As far as we know, they're got the next story arc broken down and are storyboarding.

Plotting a story takes time, energy, enthusiasm and creativity. Those are not something one is going to be filled with all the time, especially when they've already clearly become less than enthused about a project like Toriyama has. It's entirely possible that Toriyama hasn't developed another storyline yet.

I want to wait until all the pages are out, but I'm not feeling this so far.
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:
Spoiler:
HeroR wrote:The characters in Super can work with Goku and they're treated like equals to him. Goku just being in the room doesn't take away from the character. In Z, the characters were so depended on Goku that they couldn't go an episode without mentioning him in some way even by hoping he will arrived, get better, training to get stronger, our last hope, being like him, ect. Goku was wanked to hell in Z, even when he wasn't in the room and everyone else was secondary to him. In fact, this was a major issue Goku had, which is why he didn't want to do anything in the Buu Saga.

You aren't alone. While I think it is cool what he did I'm a bit let down about not seeing Goku Vs Black in this chapter if that happens to be the case.

Goku and Black need to stay away from each other in the present. It's their meeting that starts the whole causal loop plot hole in the anime.
