When I saw the pages of them riding go karts competing between them I thought it was a doujinshi since this was unbelievably magical
Now I want a Dragon ball Kart game
I love how Beerus was going to win but then the red shell hit him
then he broke the control
He's still mad in the next (?) pages
I also liked Goku and Vegeta rivality here, It was fun seeing Vegeta passing Goku by for then crashing against that rock

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Funny, but that's never how it's seemed to me. I guess that maybe it takes a certain type of imagination for the manga to have that "certain punch" when it's only panels, but for at least some of us, it's definitely there. As for the Super Saiyan transformation, it's not that it's necessarily supposed to be instantaneous (and it doesn't give off the impression that we've seen it prior, but that's neither here nor there), but drawing it out slowly wouldn't work in manga panels.ekrolo2 wrote:While I think the manga is an overall better product, I think the anime has the same advantage over it Z did over the DB manga: it manages to give scenes a certain punch to them. For example, Goku's transformation into Super Saiyan is an instantaneous thing, as if we've seen it a million times by then while the anime made it a point to show it as slow burn before he exploded. Both work for various reasons we can argue about here all day but the anime definitely has a track record for giving scenes a certain dramatic punch the manga often lacks.
At the end of the day, it really is a matter of how much your imagination naturally fills in the blanks.

Its funny how people love these "filler" scenes in the manga but completely hate in the anime. People be like: wow toei is messing up Super really bad. This isn't Akira's idea. Beerus and driving cars with humans?? Just relaxt people and enjoy both the product.

Hmmmm mm I didn't really enjoy it. Why add filler in the manga? Especially at a great point where the manga could again surpass the anime in plot......Wasted opportunity. I doubt that we learned something important in general

There's no such thing as filler in comics. Toyotarou's comic is telling the story based on Toriyama's outline in a different way than the cartoon, just because it's different doesn't mean it's filler.

I said filler not canon or cannon or how they call it. In general when something doesn't offer anything to the plot it is called filler, the artist draws a long scene that serves no purpose other than drawing a long scene to cover more pages. Extending scenes or even adding things that don't serve the plot can be considered filler. Unless of course they explained something important or it was a character development moment.Saikyo no Senshi wrote:There's no such thing as filler in comics. In general the scene was funny for a Nintendo fan but for people who don't care for references to video games it was meaningless aka filler
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Again, people praised Trunks meeting Gohan in the Super anime. They also praised the Vegeta slice of life episode. The only filler that gets bashed are ones that cause inconsistencies. Kaio Ken x 10 Goku. Meanwhile, SSG Goku in the manga gets bashed even more.Pannaliciour wrote:Its funny how people love these "filler" scenes in the manga but completely hate in the anime. It feels like you're just trying to start a fight with the manga lovers. Your type shows up every month doing this for some reason.
This go kart thing is only a few pages at best.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Nah, Goku KK Blue gets praised because its shit fanboy pandering and come up with any excuse to explain its many retcons to Zs handling of Super Saiyan. That's the real reason SSG Goku gets bashed, now, if Toyotaro had Goku use Dragon Fist with it for whatever reason, a different tune would be sung because the fanboys would get their quota of pandering.OLKv3 wrote:Again, people praised Trunks meeting Gohan in the Super anime. When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

SSG Goku gets bashed because Toyo retconned RoF and BoG by making it a separate form. In his RoF manga, Goku had the SSG power in base. In his Super manga, he no longer has it in base, so that means Goku vs Final Form Freeza would be completely different in the manga.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Personally, I think God's power should be something that needs turning on/off, in order to fit neatly with Yellow and Blue's usage. Of course, Toriyama wanted it absorbed but maybe he changed his mind on whether it was active at all times or not, we don't know.
From this chapter, we still don't have all the information of it so we can't properly judge it but there's some things we can already say:
I'm not gonna talk about paradoxes and/or plotholes but I think the manga will go the same path because, when Whis is talking to Kaioushin, they talk about a God/Gods that hate humans. Obviously, they are starting to investigate about Black but why would they come to the conclusion Gods were involved? Granted, it was followed by a joke of Kaioushin thinking about Kibito and not Zamasu but still, they'll eventually go down that route, probably.
I've said it before but I wonder if both Toei and Toyotarou have meetings deciding what each medium will properly develop from Toriyama's plot? Maybe it was decided Toyotarou would flesh out Trunks and Dabra's fight while the anime would just mention it in passing. We now know the Babarians and Kamitube are the same (even if in the manga, Zamasu and Gowasu's roles are reversed) so, even if Black didn't go to the past, events are still possible to have happened to allow Zamasu to create Black, like is already being hypothesized.
Also, Toyotarou wrote "Beerus"
Interesting.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I think Toyotarou flushed out the whole Buu thing on his own since the entire thing could have been cut without issue and Black seemed to be shoehorned in to give an excuse why it was so important for Dabura to kill the Kais when in the anime, Black did it himself and didn't fear Beerus in particular. Which I kind of figure since I didn't understand why Black feared Beerus more than the other gods or called him the most troublesome when in the same chapter Kibito called Beerus a lazy bum who does nothing but sleep when Buu was murdering everyone.alakazam^ wrote:Personally, I think God's power should be something that needs turning on/off, in order to fit neatly with Yellow and Blue's usage. Since Toyotarou is a self-proclaimed big fan of Future Trunks, I am not surprise he decided to pad the conflict to make Trunks look badass, although he really just made Dabura look extremely good.

Chapter is "out". It was a good one but nothing exciting and Goku Black going to the present was cut indeed.
Too bad Vegeta and Trunks training was so short, instead, we got pages of kart.

So the Kart thing was the main highlight huh? I guess it isn't worth going and looking for to read. I'll wait for it to actually release to read this chapter then. I assume it ended at Goku meeting Zeno?Grimlock wrote:Chapter is "out". It was a good one but nothing exciting and different happened.

I edited my post, I remembered something.
And no, it ends with Goku meeting Daishinkan.

They came to the conclusion because Black knows how to kill a God of Destruction. The only ones who know how to do that are Gods. They explained this last issue.alakazam^ wrote:Personally, I think God's power should be something that needs turning on/off, in order to fit neatly with Yellow and Blue's usage. Just say your edit Grimlock. That is a bit of a bummer but I guess I'll have XV2 and the newer episodes to hold me off until the next chapter. I mean I can see why they would add something like that since they may not even have a good way to explain this whole Present Zamasu being black but getting killed by Beerus thing so it gives them time to flesh it out.

Why are they going to see Daishinkan? It seems a little abrupt. Did Zeno's message come while they were at Capsule Corp?
