Super did have a slow start retelliing the movies, but I'm guessing that was done so they could quickly put out a series to fill Kai's time slot and cash in on the sudden increased interest in the franchise, while at the same time giving the writers a chance to work on new content

At the same time people dislike it, a lot of people like it wich means that Toei earns more money.

Also if there's something that Super is doing right, is the expansion of the lore, wich now could allow the future existence of several new stories even after Toriyama's leaves the series (when he decides to do it). The new characters (except for Botamo or Frost), have been refreshing, interesting and entertaining.

So yeah pretty much like it's existence it's justifiable.

Anyway, seriously more topics like this? I'm fine with different opinions and even with negative opinions (as it helps me when i'm not able to see throught bullshit) but too much negativity is pretty much annoying, and it really feels repetitive.
I really miss ma boy, Black :(
