Question about Buu's Regeneration

Post by Lavender Saiyan » Mon Apr 09, 2007 5:27 am

I was just reading through Volume 41 and had a question. After Gotenks Ghost attack blew Buu to bits. If Gotenks and Piccolo had completely blown his ashes into nothingness like Piccolo mentioned. Would that have killed Buu? Or could particles of him still have been in the smoke thus allowing more regeneration?

Well, according to the dubbed anime, Piccolo says that "even when blown to molecules" he can still regenerate... which implied that in the anime they did manage to destroy most of him, but egh... someone with a more direct source will likely come in soon and give a better answer. ^^

I think there's only two ways to have defeated him: make him run out of energy so he has no more to use to regenerate, and the Genki Dama. When Kid Buu and Fat Buu were fighting, Fat Buu was having trouble regenerating after a while because he was so spent. Same with Super Buu after he was fighting Vegito; he had to consciously go out of his way to regenerate his body parts instead of it regenerating automatically.

And the Genki Dama is like the one technique perfect for Buu. It's designed to be more deadly depending on the amount of evil in the person, and Kid Buu was pure evil.

Just in the anime.

Mr buu actually lost chi in the fight against kid buu, something that the other buus didn't do.

If gotenks and piccolo completely destroyed the ashes, it would have killed buu. All traces of buu have to be destroyed, which is why only an attack many times more powerful such as the genki dama could kill him.

Really? I didn't know that. Where in the anime or manga did you find that?

He may be basing that off the fact that the Genki-dama won't hurt a pure heart, though I'm not sure if what mac is saying was ever implied or directly mentioned. Buu's regeneration ability did seem to have ridiculous extents, I mean the guy blew himself to smithereens with half-a-dozen planets when he searched for Goku and Vegeta, and he could still regenerate to full power for the final battle on the Kaioshin world. Surviving things like Majin Vegeta's Final Explosion, Gotenks' and Piccolo's combined remains sweeping, and many of the attacks Vegetto laid on him almost seem to indicate Buu's immortal.

I remember how I used to have a theory that as long as Buu's being was complete, as in if he wasn't separated between his Mr./fat form and pure evil/reincarnated forms (Grey-Pure-Evil Buu, Kid-Pure-Evil Buu, and Uub), he was immortal. I mean seriously, he doesn't seem to show any signs of slowing down and if he's been in constant hard-fought battles, all he needs for an energy recovery is a 10 second nap. If you wanna go by GT as well, after Uub and Buu remerge, Uub was able to survive some dangerous inflictions; such as surviving getting eaten by Bebi-Vegeta (which in itself was a back-up plan in case his Chocolate-Hamehame-Ha attack failed) and could withstand a pointblank energy blast from Super Yi Xing Long (who at full power was formidable enough to take down Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta combined).

In my perspective I always thought that the smoke somehow formed a new Majin Buu since that's how he appeared once he came out of his shell.

Vegetto was pulling his punches. He was fully capable of annihilating Buu.

Or trap him in a black hole!
... There's a reason Saiyans don't breathe in space...

The thing about Buu's death... wasn't he in otherworld at the time? Somehow it seems like that could have impacted his ability to regenerate from something as massive as the GenkiDama that hit him.
Well, actually, I can't say I believe that... but it's a thought.

Kinda good that Goku asked for Buu to reincarnated. Imagine if he didn't, the dead anime version of Buu would still be wrecking havok in hell, and then warp back to the living world for a rematch.

The GT Goku or Vegeta could handle him easily.
I think everybody should know that the Internet is serious business.

I don't think they'd have that long.

I think they wouldn't have given him a body to do so. Just kept him a puffy cloud soul.

They gave Freeza and Cell their bodies...

But that's filler... so... e'yeah (But Coola Yagami was refering to said filler... so... e'yeah...).

Anyways, I guess that, after blasting ashes multiple times, they would eventually remove and remaning... uh, Buu, but by the time they did that, I would think that Buu would've regenerated.

I was gonna ramble on about why that makes since to me... but it ended up being circular reasoning... so... e'yeah (Haha! I actually used that 3 times in one post!).

Basically, the whole regeneration thing was just another attempt to make a pink chocolate loving monster "Badass".
