Re: Is this the epitome of Super?
I think Super still has all potential in the world to not only produce an arc as great as the Future Trunks arc, but an arc even better than that. It all comes down to having proper quality control when tasking the writers for future episodes and of course what kind of plot outline for the next arc that Toriyama comes up with.
Spoiler:
Re: Is this the epitome of Super?
I don't want to definitively assert that the Black arc is going to be the pinnacle of Super's quality. We have no understanding of what will follow this arc. For all we know the villain, atmosphere, and fights could be even more provocative than this arc's. We'll just have to wait and see how things pan out.
Re: Is this the epitome of Super?
Really odd that you are nowhere to be seen when someone says something good about Super , but when someone has something negative to say you'll come with this bullcrap. Stop defending Super please it a okay series at this point.VegettoEX wrote:This is not an acceptable way to hold a conversation. This has already been addressed in another thread with similar folks, and strikes are / will be issued.
I would encourage everyone to please review the community guidelines (which you agreed to twice prior to registration). Account strikes add up to temporary/permanent bans, which revoke access to the entirety of the Kanzenshuu website. You've clearly come here because you find some sort of value in us/here/conversing/reading/listening, so it may be best to reevaluate all of that.
In a blunt nutshell, no-one wants to read bullshit. Don't post bullshit. Be a cool person that posts cool things that other people would actually want to read. Don't be Zamasu from episode 63 talking to himself.

Nothing I said in my statement you quoted has anything to do with the quality of Dragon Ball Super.Shuby wrote:Really odd that you are nowhere to be seen when someone says something good about Super , but when someone has something negative to say you'll come with this bullcrap. My opinions on the series are complex and I've expressed them in a variety of outlets, including on our own podcast, other folks' shows, forum posts here, and posts on Reddit. It's not up to me to make sure that you personally have read everything I've ever said about the show, but if you'd like to read them, you're more than welcome to click on my name here and there and browse through. Here's one thing I recently wrote, but it's more on the subject of music than the rest of the content.
I wouldn't make brash judgments about your own opinions, so it'd be great if you could extend that same courtesy to both me and the rest of the community.

I think the title should be "is this the apex of super"

Agreed. Something that is itself literally already is the epitome of itselfburrito007 wrote:I think the title should be "is this the apex of super"

Re: Is this the apex of Super? (Future Trunks arc)
I don't think so, I think this arc has set the bar very high and it's very possible we won't see it exceeded for a while, however we still have 9 other universes we haven't so much as touched on yet, and universe 6 and 10 which we know little to nothing about. This is heaps of potential content which could very possibly exceed this arc in terms of quality.

Re: Is this the apex of Super? (Future Trunks arc)
If this is the apex of Super that doesn't bode well if the series goes on for 150-200 episodes. That means every arc after the current one would be worse or a disappointment.
I sure as hell hope not.

I hope note. Here's to hoping that the remaining arcs are as good or better.

Not necesarily, they could keep the same level.precita wrote:If this is the apex of Super that doesn't bode well if the series goes on for 150-200 episodes. That means every arc after the current one would be worse or a disappointment.

Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.
Re: Is this the apex of Super? (Future Trunks arc)
Nope.
I do agree that Black and Zamasu are pretty nice villians (in the context of Dragon Ball), but I want to see different things, like the usage of side-characters, proper build-up to characters and events, and overall a more smooth storytelling.
Obviously, to have that you need good visuals to back those things up, and Super is far from how I would want it to look and feel (visually and musicaly speaking).

The dark knight returns was released in 1986 and is still looked at by A LOT of fans as the best batman story ever written and that was 30 years ago.precita wrote:If this is the apex of Super that doesn't bode well if the series goes on for 150-200 episodes. Does that mean the hundreds of stories written after were worse or disappointing ? no, so there's no reason to think the next DB arc will be that if it's not better.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

This has been a pretty neat arc so far, even though I miss the drawing style of DBZ. (characters in Super are too chibi like)Avok wrote:Nope.

Agreed on all the above, I want the next arc to be a serious one with only a whiff of light heartedness and the stakes seriously raised.
I want characters to be driven to the extreme of their power knowing things can all be over in an instant.
And I want Future Trunks to be in the Multiverse tournament as well, I have the feeling the existance of his timeline is depending on it.
I swear if Future trunks dies before the next arc I'm quitting this series.
Re: Is this the apex of Super? (Future Trunks arc)
I am sure it will keep on getting better and better. The reason for that is, because it is doing its own thing.
Also, being worried about future arcs performance is a sure way to make yourself disappointed in the upcoming arcs. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
