Was Dabura actually evil?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Was Dabura actually evil?

Post by Sailor Haumea » Wed Oct 26, 2016 9:27 pm

I always felt that Dabura wasn't necessarily as evil as it seemed, but was under Babidi's control.

If Satan from Sand Land is Dabura, this would suggest that, yes, Dabura wasn't as much of a bad person as he seemed to be.

What do you think? Was Dabura's evil "amplified" by Babidi, was Dabura neutral before Babidi, or was Dabura always as evil as he was in the Buu arc?

Does it matter which Dabura / what timeline? Either way, he had the demon/devil mark "M" representing the Ma/魔 in Majin/魔人. He is also known as the king of demons. My official answer is both yes and no. He starts out being evil, but changes to not evil in the afterlife.

How do we know he wasn't a benevolent king before Babidi appeared?

Remember, once he died, the M vanished. I've always felt Dabura, like Babidi's other minions, was under Babidi's control.

Bobbidi can only amplify the dormant ability of evil hearts before brainwashing individuals to do his bidding. If Dabra possessed no evil, he wouldn't fall under Bobbidi's control. After all, the small amount of evil in Vegeta's heart, despite intentionally allowing the charm, was substantial enough to be affected by his magic.

Benevolent to his people, respectful to his rivals, sadistic to his victims.

Er......Yes. You dont get a title like "Demon King" because you a nice guy.

However even beings of an evil nature can have good qualities about them.
