The Historic moments of DBZ
You know, while watching the Japanese version of Dragonball z, The historic moments like Choazu sacrificing himself or Kuririn finding out the Yamucha is dead tends to get me emotional like it's supposed to. When I saw it in the library for the first time, I had a hard time not crying right there despite the fact no one was there. How did you feel when you first saw the historic moment of DBZ?

Well, I do tend to cry. Of course, I cry a lot during anime, so that's nothing new.
However, the scenes that do choke me up in DBZ aren't <insert character> dies, but more subtle scenes. For example, during the filler episode where the gang at Kame's place finds out that Yamucha is dead, I wept. Not because of Yamucha, not because of Bulma, but because of Pu'ar. And Oolong comforting him.
See, right before I watched that, I had just recieved and watched a copy of the first 13 eps of Dragonball, courtesy of our friends in Australia, Madman. It was so incredibly sweet seeing how Oolong and Pu'ar had gone from completely hating each other, to truly caring for each other, that it made me choke up. It wasn't much, and it was filler, but it was sweet, and it got me all choked up and weepy.

I became chocked up during the scene where Goku and Gohan were discussing the battle between Piccolo and Cell. It was just such a helpless fight and all the while the sad dub music was playing.Goku was acting all serious and nerve wrecked,Gohan was in despair. Especially when Gohan tried to run away from Goku and help Piccolo. Goku had to resort to knocking his own son over the head. Great filler scene (itself wasn’t filler but it being so dragged out was).
Aro started to laugh. “Ha, ha, ha,” he chuckled.- Actual quote from Twilight

The big one for me was always when Piccolo died protecting Gohan from Nappa's blast. The entire scene from when he rushes towards Gohan with the flashbacks of his training to his last breath has always gotten to me. It's one of the most touching and dramatic moments in the series in my mind.

I did think the scene when Vegeta dies the first time was good. But Dragonball doesn't give the emotional feeling it should because of the ability to revive characters, it makes the deaths of the characters have little emotion for me.

I only felt sad during the ending of Dragonball GT.
Felt like my childhood was over.
