So, this is basically a combination of two different posts I have already made - But yeah, if you could bring back old concepts to the DB franchise similar to what DB Super is doing with the character of Future Trunks or the Mafuba technique: What would it be? Personally, I still think the Power Pole should somehow be brought back into DB Super or the future of DB. I know it doesn't make as much sense as Mafuba, but I feel bringing this concept back would add to the fact that the former technique has made original DB more relevant to modern fans.
My explanation for the Power Pole being brought back would be that (as I said in the other post): A new villain arrives whose main attack method is a magical sword. Goku is completely unable to attack this enemy because he uses his sword as the ultimate defense (even against Instant Transport). So, Goku decides to get his Power Pole back and infuses his god energy into it - making it stronger and more useful for current Goku. Basically, Goku's Power Pole makes him similar to Trunks with his sword. Also, from what I always thought - The Power Pole seems magical so it would fit against the enemy's magical sword. Also, the thought of an adult almost-Swordsman Goku (only with Power Pole) is awesome to me.
As for bringing back old techniques like DB Super is doing now, I'd say one old technique I would bring back is: Maybe, the Jan ken Fist (Rock, Scissors, Paper) - But only Goku would do it by manipulating his ki to create the fist (that moves in unison with his real fist). Yeah, now that I think about it - Majin Vegeta manipulated his ki to create Energy Rings to trap Goku and Gotenks with Galactic Donuts. I want to see Ki Manipulation used more in DB. And as for a new one - Goku trains under Whis so how awesome would it be if he somehow learned how to reverse time? I mean, he's always learned something from his masters before (Roshi - Kamehameha, King Kai - Kaioken, Spirit Bomb) so why not from Whis? What if there's an enemy that Goku needs to analyze and he reverses time to learn from his mistakes. But Whis warns him that it can only be done a certain amount of times (Maybe two). Time Manipulation would be an interesting technique for Goku to have to use wisely. Then, there's the fact that Goku read Krillin's mind that one time? Maybe, that can be developed? Also, as far as characters go: The Pilaf gang (especially Mai) were made relevant again. So, maybe we can see other characters from Dragon Ball return again (Maybe, Launch?). I would say Upa or Suno, but I know fans would say "HELL NO, only in filler because their arcs ended nicely". Although, we thought the same for Future Trunks and he came back so who knows? Arale would be cool too beyond her small cameo, but alright - I'll stop now.

I think Super are doing really good with new techniques especially badass technique like Black Goku's Ki blade or Hit's Kobayashi..
I hope in future we will see more of that
