OMG! I like DBGT: Transformation

Post by Timo » Wed Apr 18, 2007 3:12 pm

Yep, I take up the cudgels for DBGT: Transformation. I played it the last few days and find it quite funny. Too bad I have to play it on an evil emulator, because either the shops (amazon.com...f**k you!) don't ship the game (or the Dual Pack with Buu's Fury) to Germany or it's way too expensive.

Sure, the backgrounds aren't a masterpiece and there are no animations.
The sprites are okay, as well as the sprite animations as long as you don't power up (what the HFIL are those face expressions?!).

The design and style are FUNiGT-like. This fact in addition to...it's GT... Man, I should hate this game. But:
There are many attacks and combos; it has good ideas; nice dynamic and it plays pretty well. Yes, there are some glitches and the enemies and their formations can be boring, but it entertained me good for a while.

Sorry. ;)
Now you can stone me to death or give me dog names.

Oh and I made two little clips. Actually both show how stupid the game is. ;D

I think it's an all-right game myself. But I'm a hardcore beat-em-up fan, so there are very few I completely hate :p

This is not a bad game, I too kind of like it but still it is not the best game ever.

I thought the game was alright too, not a lot of variety to attacks though, you could just keep doing the attack over and over again till the enemy dies. They could of fixed these things in the sequel, but thats unlikely, since it will never be made

They have said they are making the sequel. But haven't told anything about it.

The sequel was originally announced for later the same year as the first Transformation. We have literally no information on it right now. I think either Webfoot is gearing up for something huge (unlikely), or it's vaporware (most likely, but unfortunate).

Yeah, I remember hearing about it was a year ago, all the retailers had a release date of somewhere in August.

Last time I heard, the games was either cancelled or delayed (probably canceled).

If I remember correctly, the game was going to have the Super 17 and Shadow Dragons arc.

It's Battletoads set in the DBGT story. That's all I needed to know to buy this game.

Don't judge me. Campy sells, bitches. :)

Recently while compiling a wishlist on eToys (What? I need to do anything I can to get some of the more obscure TMNT figures!), I came across this:

http://www.etoys.com/genProduct.html/PI ... uNo/989531

It's got the cover and description to the first game, plus the title is just listed as "Dragon Ball GT: Transform 2", but at least it's a new release date.

Is this game fated to become the Duke Nukem Forever of the Dragon Ball universe?

(On a side note, I'm completely pissed the site has NO Dragon Ball figures... all they have is video games).
