Red Ribbon Army Question

Post by Super 17 » Sun Apr 22, 2007 12:41 pm

Does anyone know if General Kappa ( brown in english) is ever shown in dragonball? I forget if they showed him, but I pretty much don't remember seeing him, just commander red and advisor black mentioning him. What about in the manga, I haven't read the manga, does he appear there.

It says he wasn't shown in neither manga or anime on wikipedia, but everybody knows that wikipedia's information isn't really reliable :) .
I think everybody should know that the Internet is serious business.

No, he's only briefly mentioned (something to the effect of, "go give General Copper the Dragon Radar," to Colonel Violet, I believe).

I believe in the dub, when Silver called for Reenforcements (against Pilaf?), someone who sounded like Black said that help would come from "Brown's" team... although if wikipedia serves my memory, which must in turn serve me correctly, was Copper the original source of the reenforcements? o.o...

There are mentions of a Brown (no rank given) and a General Copper, but neither of them are shown in the manga or anime.

When was Brown mentioned? I don't recall that (unless it was in the anime!).

If I recall correctly, the dub states that Silver's reenforcements are supposed to come from Brown's unit.

Awesome, something I can actually post to! Even though it, technically, has already been answered.

Alright. Commander Red mentioned General Copper after Colonel Violet returned to the Red Ribbon Army headquarters to give Red the Dragonball she located and retrieved at the lake. Red told Black to give Copper the Dragon Radar so he could find the Dragonball known to exist wherever he happened to be. That is all we know about Copper. He is never seen, but is mentioned in both the anime and the manga in the exact same scenes.

Brown, on the other hand, was given no rank, and was only mentioned in the anime (there was another officer Colonel Silver mentioned in the manga by the name of Beige, and that may be a mistranslation of Brown, but I'm not sure), when, as someone said before, Silver was requesting for backup to take down Pilaf's fortress. Black said that he would send over Brown's army, and what do you know, five minutes later something around a thousand jets are surrounding Pilaf's fortress, whooshing around and shooting the dickens out of it. We don't know Brown's rank or even if he has a face, but apparently if you give him ten minutes he can usher his troops across the solar system if necessary.

Actually, Brown is mentioned in the manga. In the very first chapter the RRA appears in, in fact. Silver mentions that Brown's group already found one Dragon Ball.

Ah, guess that was my mistake. I believe I was confusing a translated manga panel I recently looked at as opposed to the English Dragonball manga released by Viz.
