Well, blame the writer. It was Salagir's choice to make Bra who she is. It was his choice to mock everyone who hates what he did with her. And it was his choice to make her lose her body instead of her winning so smugly as she did every other time. Everyone getting their rocks off to this, the feeling of joy and exhilaration, is all on him.rereboy wrote:It is awkward to think that many people like the recent events not because they think the events are interesting, but because they hate Bra.

I don't see how. If you don't like a character, then you don't like a character. For some, it's only natural that they want something bad to happen to that character that they dislike. If that's awkward, then what in the world is normal?rereboy wrote:It is awkward to think that many people like the recent events not because they think the events are interesting, but because they hate Bra.

The best part of this page is the expression on Cold's body's face. Bra's mind is in there, either thinking "the fuck just happened?" or "this hurts... like a lot".Doctor. wrote:

Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

I wonder will Vegito start destroying Ginyu to make him switch bodies again.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
A good question, as their ki sensing should make it obvious that there was a change in Bra's ki.miguelnuva1 wrote:I wonder will Vegito start destroying Ginyu to make him switch bodies again.

I don't think blind hate or blind love should be normal.Bansho64 wrote:I don't see how. If you don't like a character, then you don't like a character. DBM is more than just Bra, and this situation with Ginyu has many more interesting aspects and possibilities than Bra not managing to avoid getting tricked and being basically defeated. And yet, many apparently want to boil it all down to just that, like it's all that matters or should be focused on, as we can see in many comments to the page over the internet.
I'm not really fond of Bra but I don't see the point in just focusing on that and rejoice every time things don't go well for her purely based on the fact that it didn't go well for her as if it's a matter of principle... That strikes me as shallow and basically a waste of time. Hate for hating sake. A blind reaction. It's far more interesting to see just how such a character is used and what developments could emerge involving the character because even a character that we aren't that fond of can be used effectively in a story and bring about interesting developments.
I liked coola's comment because it ironically put to light that aspect, only on reverse. Namely, it demonstrated such a blind love (instead of blind hate) for a character that he stated that he would be dropping to comic just because the character didn't manage to avoid getting tricked and being basically defeated, not caring in the least about the developments that could emerge. That's what's awkward, noticing how many focus blindly on just one feeling for a character.
That really doesn't have much to do with what I was getting at, since what I was getting at was what many people seem to focus on and how awkward it is since it's kind of shallow. But, sure, ultimately, the creators of the comic are the ones responsible for their comic, even though no one put that in question here.FoolsGil wrote:Well, blame the writer. I never was fan of body change technique in any media, call me weird, but i find it really uncomfortable, that someone stole your identity. It's not that uncommon for people to drop series because something happen to their favorite character, take a look at current series Magical Girl Raising Project, lots of people are upset after what happened in episode 6, like i said, sorry if i come as weirdo, but thats just my opinion, body switch is really uncomfortable for me, and at least in series, it got fixed rather quickly, here god knows how many months/years i will have to wait

I don't see at all how that makes people "shallow" or "awkward". That seems kind of like an overreaction to people's feelings. Even worse, apparently some are "blind" because they focus on certain characters or events. That sounds ridiculous to me.rereboy wrote: I don't think blind hate or blind love should be normal.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I, without any kind of insults, merely commented that many seem to base their opinion regarding the events of the comic on just how much hate/love they have towards a certain character and not much else, which, in my humble opinion, is an evaluation that lacks a certain depth because there's a lot more angles going on from the point of view of the plot and also from other character's point of view.Bansho64 wrote: I don't see at all how that makes people "shallow" or "awkward". IMO, an evaluation with a little more depth, that actually looked beyond just how much hate/love we have for a certain character, would see not only that character but also what else is going on and its possibilities. IMO, that is more worthwhile, and seeing how many don't have that perspective makes me feel kind of awkward.
"Shallow" just means that it could have more depth, IMO, and awkward is just how it makes me feel, personally. People are certainly free to have whatever opinion they want and base it on whatever they want but I'm also free to have my own opinion on what other people think and on what they base their opinion.
An actual overreaction on my part would be to insult people, say that they have no right to have that opinion, that they can't base their opinion on that, and/or use much stronger words than "shallow" or "awkward" (which just mean that I wish to see more depth in the opinions/evaluations I read).
What else would you call a reaction similar to what coola stated besides "blind"? It's "blind" because it doesn't really "see" much of anything else, in that case the love for the character. Seems perfectly adequate, IMO. There's no need to have a strong reaction to the word, it's just a way to describe the fact that it doesn't "see" much of anything else.Even worse, apparently some are "blind" because they focus on certain characters or events. Well, if you look at the show, most people were fairly confused at all the body switching that was happening when Goku-Ginyu and Ginyu-Goku ended up in their real bodies, and when Ginyu tried to switch again. Heck, look at Vegeta; he makes the mistake of charging Ginyu TWICE while he's about to change his body! Why would he do that if the mouth ki was visible?Fionordequester wrote:How didn't anyone see what Cold (Ginyu) just did? The beam was visible all long! And don't this contradicts this?
Also, that could be Ginyu in Vegetto's body.[/quote]
Oh I see... So the mouth ki could be invisible after all

We, the viewers, see a beam. Just like we the view sees the fight when the characters in-universe can't most of the time. Also, in the anime, the voice changes when Ginyu switch bodies, but no one notices it because it's only for the audience's sake.Noah wrote:

Didn't Toriyama at one point say that Ki would actually be invisible and he only makes it visible for visual flare?
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I'm still not seeing how he or anyone else here is blind. If we have love for a character, or hate for that matter, then that's our opinion. There's no blindness to it. Coola likes Bra a lot, so he's unhappy that she got snatched up by Ginyu. That's all there is to it IMO. It's only natural that he doesn't want something bad to happen to a character that he likes. I'm not seeing how any of this is blind or lacking perception.rereboy wrote: What else would you call a reaction similar to what coola stated besides "blind"? Oh, you know. Repetitive complaints. Also, I rolled my eyes at the cheering after this page. I respect opinions greatly, but I can't take this anymore. The simplest, easiest, and best thing to do is to just walk away (or, in this case, stop following the thread).Bansho64 wrote:Why do you hate the thread?

People should just accept that Bra is a worthless character that deserves everything worse from now on
