Comes across as horrible writing to me, though to be fair, Future/immortal Zamasu says more of the "ningen are inferior to kami" nonsense moreso than Black.
He explained his reasoning. He said he killed the other Gods because he's the only God needed and he said he stole Goku's body because he's taking all the sins of the mortals and Gods into one body and atoning for it all on his own for the sake of the universe... or, something, he's a pretentious douche.
I understand why he did it in relation to his Zero Mortals Plan (which makes me groan because it isn't even a plan that has any sort of well thought out planning), but the fact that he said it was still "the justice of the gods" right up until Trunks sliced him in half makes that moot. Also, I think if one truly hated mortals he wouldn't try and take one's body, he'd just kill them. Doesn't make much sense for one who hates them to become one. The whole taking the sin into his body came across to me as some horribly justified reason that Toei tried to put on his character. I don't think a character who hates another would try to do something like that, thus it comes across as stupid to me.

His hypocrisy was called out in the latest episode. It's part of his character, thus I don't see how it's "horrible writing".

IMO this makes him all the more interesting as a villain. No one likes smart asses who are always right and flawless.
Characters can be hypocrites and still well-written, but Zamasu just comes across as an idiot if he can't see why taking Goku's body is contradictory to his personality. Its like if Hitler stole a Jew's body. Also, he could've just either wished for all mortals to be killed OR for more power instead of taking Goku's body when he gathered the Super Dragon Balls. Personally, I prefer super intelligent villains whose logic has some sort of sound reasoning. Zamasu just comes across to me as a mortal hating god with very little reasoning for why he feels that way.

But it is the justice of the Gods, for him. A God, to Zamasu, is someone who uses his power to destroy evil. So, since all the other Gods don't destroy evil, he considers them worthless. He respects the concept of "Gods", he just hates the individuals who have that job.

I don't think it was horribly justified. I think it was purposefully hypocritical of Zamasu to get a mortal's body, and the show turned our attention to it whenever it could, showcasing us that Zamasu's own methods of achieving the grandeur he dreams of overpower his ideals. It was when Vegetto finally called him out on his hypocrisy that he gave an excuse, which, I'm 100% sure, he completely believes in, but probably never thought of it before. Gowasu even calls our attention to the contradictions in Zamasu's mind.

Nice Godwin point out of nowhere lol. But no it's not like that. It's more like Hitler claiming that blond, blue-eyed tall people are the most intelligent race in the world despite Hitler himself being a black-haired, brown-eyed short guy.

If he disrespects those individuals, then I don't think he should be calling it the justice of the gods since that is what they have been doing for eons now. Toei should just make him say its his own.

I understand the irony/hypocrisy behind it, I just don't find it believable that he doesn't realize what he's doing. I feel like a character (like him) who hates a specific group of people wouldn't think twice about becoming a member of said people.

Thank you  . But, I don't see it like that, because Zamasu only really respects Goku and not mortals in general.

But Zamasu still feels like he's acting upon the name of all the Gods. Just that he's the only God needed to do so. Like he's the chosen one or something.

I'm pretty sure Zamasu realized exactly what he did, but he never considered himself a mortal just because he was in Goku's body. He was still God in mind, God in Ki.

And that to me doesn't make sense, how can one act in the name of the Gods when all the Gods before him acted the same way and he doesn't respect them anymore? That's why I think there should've been more dialog about him becoming a new type of God that usurps the old type, instead of just a couple lines here and there that were thrown off by numerous "justice of the gods" comments, right up until Trunks slices him in half.

And that to me is a problem. I think the natural reaction for anyone who makes the switch would be to realize the difference in his/her "godhood" now.

The problem here is that you're looking at how normal people would react in these situations. Zamasu is an extreme narcissist, the biggest one in the series thus far. And not only a narcissist, a complex one at that. He'd never admit a flaw in his own being if it's pointed out to him, but he will admit a flaw in his own being on his own (like when he cursed his powerlessness not once but twice).

But see, even if I looked at it from a narcissist's view, the natural reaction imo would be that narcissism would make him realize that he no longer has the body of a god BECAUSE of that narcissism and how he finds gods and his divinity holy. Also, because its not pointed out to him, I think he should've realized it on his own.

Depends, that would be a kind of inferiority that only covert narcissists showcase. Zamasu is a very open and textbook narcissist, who thinks he's perfect as long as he's getting what he wants.

Right, and there in is the problem I guess . I just can't see how even an open narcissist wouldn't realize that.

I made a video to make somewhat of a tribute for Goku Black: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pt-ZQOkBOM

He was an interesting villain and perhaps is among the greatest Dragonball has ever seen.

The only really bad scene I can think of for Black is when he makes the scythe. He only then seems to realize that he's both angry and that anger makes people stronger.... After anger towards mortals makes him do all of this and he verbally acknowledges Goku's anger from Ep61 made him stronger.... What?!
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.
