I say this too. Especially now that Future Trunks is gone from the show, what character aside from Goku/Vegeta can they shill next?

Next obvious choice is Gohan. Would also like to see Goten and kid Trunks have a major role again too.

They aren't dropping hints of Gohan's return. Just because they acknowledge his existence every once in awhile doesn't mean anything. As for this episode, they did shoehorn him in, but only to jerk a few tears from your eyes. He was only there as a proxy for us to feel for Trunks.

There's really no point in bringing "Fighting" Gohan back because if he came back and went Super Saiyan Rainbow, at the end of the arc he'd just revert back to "Non-Fighting" Gohan. The only time Gohan will fight is when he forced to and he'll never be forced to because you have Goku, Vegeta, and even Piccolo, Boo, Trunks, and Goten before him. I think the only way Gohan will start fighting again is if Goku and Vegeta are absent like at Planet Sadal in Universe 6 and U7's Earth is attacked. In other words, I think a DBS non-canonical movie is the best way to go with this, since you could just have Goku and Vegeta off visiting Planet Sadal and have Gohan train in the ROSAT with Piccolo and remaining current non-relevant cast.

When you have to put your faith in Toei's greed because you know it's the only way he is coming back, you know you're in a bad spot. Gohan may have his on "filler" arc, but I have a hard time believing Toriyama is going to do anything with him at this point. He probably doesn't care. I'm kind of sick of all the OP saiyans anyway. I'd rather have hit, or any non saiyan, join the main cast. I really didn't enjoy it when Piccolo was abruptly made irrelevant but I had to live with it. I know Gohan has a boatload of fans, but you guys have to take the accept reality like the rest of us. Hell, Gohan is my favorite Saiyan, I didn't like what happened to him either, but you guys keep setting yourself up like you're in a bad relationship.

Super has been giving a lot of things fans want even master roshi faught and is appearing a lot, they are aware fans want Gohan..
They tested the water with trunks, it will definitely happen.. a big chance is there..

He'll have some sacrificial moment to save her even though he's vastly underpowered. King Yemma will probably let him keep his body from his contributions towards Cell and Buu and let him run down Snake's Way to whichever Kai's planet is in charge of further research and scholarly endeavors. Goku can visit him whenever, I guess, but I mean, why would he? He never offered Goku anything of value as a son and clearly cannot as the only other thing besides food that Goku values - a sparring partner.

I don't really care if he will become a fighter again in the future arc but I guess for the sake of keeping the Gohan fans happy they will brim him back into the limelight eventually.

I was disappointed with Gohan in this arc, not for the fact that he gave up on fighting to be a family man,(I can respect that) but for his blatant ignorance towards Trunk's problems.
He contributed absolutely nothing to this arc to help him and was practically useless all the time.
I expected at least some form of involvement from him, isn't he supposed to be intelligent and all?
