The ending of this arc is great

Zamasu didn't win as he could never fulfill his utopia of a new world "by and for the gods" being murdered by Zeno before he could achieve it lol
He was half-successful though, by eradicating all humans lol

For me....no. What's the point of this arc after this ending, seriously?

"Humans have to submit to the Gods and they can't win in any way. Ah, the punishment is total annihilation" and "Who cares if our multiverse no longer exists and trillions of people are dead".

The point is finding hope in doing what you can/believing in your own resolve in the face of calamaty. At the expense of their own comfort, Trunks and Mai are going to give the people of their world some form of second chance, just as Trunks provided the main cast in the Cell arc.

What would the point of this arc have been if it were just, "Remember that time Trunks brought us to the future to help stop another supervillain?" That's the track I thought it was on right until the finale, with no meaningful character growth, and I was really checked out. This was much more powerful and interesting, and a solid addition to the story.

Ofc Zamasu didnt win. He is a villain, they tend to always lose in the end. Ofc the difference here is that, the heroes also failed and all their efforts were in vain.

His goal was never to vaporize the universe; he loved his world, but hated the humans that inhabited it because of the destruction they caused. Guess what? He was right. Everything he feared came true: a human led to the destruction of his universe. In the end, Zamasu was in fact the good guy in this picture, and he failed to protect what he loved by an idiot human.
