Super Animation Catalogue 2.0
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 67
Were there any good shots from episode 67? I remember cringing at the animation first (and only) time I watched this episode. But maybe it was the big difference between 66...

There some decent shots in the second half of the episode. Nothing I would consider "good".sangofe wrote:Were there any good shots from episode 67? I remember cringing at the animation first (and only) time I watched this episode. But maybe it was the big difference between 66...

No leaked shot of 69, guess we have to wait until tonight to figure out who might be on it.
If we're talking animation, sure, but if we're talking art there were a lot of good shots. Using the word "shots" can be confusing.Lord Beerus wrote:There some decent shots in the second half of the episode. The second half of the episode was great compared to the first half. Here are some shots from the 2nd halfsangofe wrote:Were there any good shots from episode 67? I remember cringing at the animation first (and only) time I watched this episode. But maybe it was the big difference between 66...

It did leak, actually. It was Trunks and Goten in front of dark clouds, hence the Dragon Balls and Shenron.ArchedThunder wrote:No leaked shot of 69, guess we have to wait until tonight to figure out who might be on it.
EDIT: Oh, wait. #69. Never mind, then.

I realized I messed up before you posted that. Apologies. Even so, there was a shot that was leaked for #69. It was just Goku and Arale near Capsule Corp IIRC.ArchedThunder wrote:That's 68, 69 is next week's episode with Arale.

If I was a betting man I'd say it's probably going to be the same picture that the DBS twitter posted.ArchedThunder wrote:That's 68, 69 is next week's episode with Arale.Anime Kitten wrote:It did leak, actually. I really wonder what episode 69 will look like, the staff is post to be somewhat good on that episode.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 67
Sorry for any confusion I may have created with my wording. To clarify, yes, in terms of art style, there were some good shots, but nothing in terms of actual animation I would consider good.ArchedThunder wrote:If we're talking animation, sure, but if we're talking art there were a lot of good shots. A Wanpack episode, and a very polished one at that; a lot like their work in episode 44! As with all of her episodes, there was a good bit of input from Miyako Tsuji, so that definitely helped up the quality in areas that were probably lacking.
Even though it obviously wasn't packed with crazy animation, there were quite a few instances of character acting that's generally absent in episodes like these. Very nice to see. Though I can't help but wish last week's episode was as polished as this one.
Not exactly the most interesting thing ever, but Taiichiro Ohara and Yoko Iizuka are back. Always nice to see old names returning.
Next week is obviously Shuichiro Manabe, so that's good! Looking forward to that a lot. I don't think we've ever seen Manabe on a lighthearted episode. I hope we a bunch of crazy expressions and fun action.

So it does look like NewType just got Kitano and Kinoshita backwards then.
I'm betting some of the non pointy nose on model stuff from the NEP might have been Nashizawa. I haven't seen anything from this episode yet (waiting on Crunchyroll) but the NEP looked pretty solid.

-Episode 68-
Toei's priorities are questionable one again. How the hell this filler episode looks better than the first part of the previous episode, which was the last one from a major arc?! WTF?!
And this episode didn't even have a recap, which I found strange too.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 67
The last episode they were on was the last Wanpack episode, makes me wonder if their job is to support Wanpack episodes specifically or if we'll also see them pop up in some other episodes. 64 and 67 sure could have used them.Ajay wrote: Not exactly the most interesting thing ever, but Taiichiro Ohara and Yoko Iizuka are back. Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 67
Good that they outsourced this episode. Hopefully they use the staff wisely.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 67
I liked how they made Goku land after he collected all the dragonballs.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 67
I was just about to make that comment. The fact this episode was outsourced gives the main staff more time to get their shit together. I'm hoping the rest of the filler episodes were outsourced to other studios, but that's highly unlikely.Sodhi wrote:Good that they outsourced this episode. Hopefully they use the staff wisely.
