Will Super surpass 200 episodes??

Re: Will Super surpass 200 episodes??
Probably. Can't say for sure though. 100 is a guarantee

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Easily 100 episodes, yeah. I'm feeling around 130 right now could be the maximum.
Toei better promote the shit out of it.

Re: Will Super surpass 200 episodes??
It's going to be canceled after 180 episodes.
Re: Will Super surpass 200 episodes??
I think the new DB content will easily reach 200 episodes but I'm not sure about Super cause I think that'll depend on how long Toriyama will write it.
It's safe to say it'll reach 100 so currently I'm looking forward to it reaching 154 cause that'll put it ahead of the original DB.

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: Will Super surpass 200 episodes??
It definitely could but the real question is, will it be good? I'd rather have 2 good arcs then 5 mediocre or bad ones.

Re: Will Super surpass 200 episodes??
The production committee will never let this cash cow die. Fuji TV finally got a show that is proving to be beneficial for them cause Toriko wasn't able to do much good. Namco-Bandai is making a crap ton of money through toy sales, video games et cetera. Shueisha is also making money in their own ways.
Even if Toriyama quits, I don't think they will stop. As much as fans don't like to accept it, Dragon Ball is a series appealing to the lowest common denominator. Only an idiot would stop the show that is making huge profits.
I'd say it will go on as long as merchandise sales are good. And I don't see sales dropping anytime soon, so I think it should reach the 200 mark comfortably. Even, if they end Super at the 100-150 mark for some reason they can very well come up with Super 2 after a short break.

Now ... see ... that is what I don't want to happen. Super needs to end at some point before 200 episodes because I don't want a Super 2. I don't want powerscaling to get even more complex than it already is. I want Toei to put some effort in the next arc to explain god ki clearly. I don't want there to be a Super Saiyan 6 or a Super Saiyan Green-Black, which may occur if this show goes for that long.Saikyo no Senshi wrote:The production committee will never let this cash cow die. Re: Will Super surpass 200 episodes??
Super will go for another 2 arcs maybe, if they don't get their story telling quality up that is..
I feel they are not able to execute it correctly, and thus someone suggested to let Toyotaro give them info now, if it gets better it's all well and good, toriyama will surely give it his all as this could very well be the last Dragonball series he writes..
Toriyama has had gripes with toie and their animation handling, so much so that he was not willing to write anymore..
It seems he like Toyotaro and his work though..
I have a hunch letting the manga go ahead is to please toriyama and give him maximum quality
Of course I could be very wrong about it all in which case someone please correct me

Re: Will Super surpass 200 episodes??
I see no reason why it shouldn't. There are 12 universes. And if they wanted to, they could even introduce other multiverses to form an "Omniverse" and on top of that the merchandise sales have been astounding so far. So i see no reason why it shouldn't.

Re: Will Super surpass 200 episodes??
If they properly manage the potential material of the other universes, it certainly could last over 200. I honestly see Super ending somewhere between 160-190 episodes.

I think Super will go for 200 episodes at the minimum.
I see it going for up to 5 years, which could see it surpass 400 or 500 episodes.
I don't think it will go much higher than that.

5 years wouldn't equal 500 episodes. I don't even think I could watch 500 episodes of a really good series.JoeCapricorn wrote:I think Super will go for 200 episodes at the minimum.

Try One Piece. That show will suck in you and not let go.Beyond wrote:5 years wouldn't equal 500 episodes. I don't even think I could watch 500 episodes of a really good series.JoeCapricorn wrote:I think Super will go for 200 episodes at the minimum.

Re: Will Super surpass 200 episodes??
However long Super continues will be in direct proportion to how ratings and merchandise sales keep up. The next arc could be as short as 12 episodes if there is a decline or stretch out to 20-24, maybe longer if TOEI sees it as a feasible business choice. GT ended when it did because it was struggling to retain an audience. Super's current performance is a whole different story, it is doing incredibly well and this is reflected in TOEI's decision to continuously push forward.
Of course if TOEI have the ambitions to not only develop and expand upon the 12 universes but also invest in sufficient quality control Super will make it to 200 episodes and beyond.

I can't even watch 291 episodes, and I can barely watch 151 episodes. If Super was 500 episodes and good it would be hell for me.Beyond wrote:5 years wouldn't equal 500 episodes.
