Ssj2 Trunks lost to ssj3 Goku. He isn't god tier. He only reached god tier after his weird transformation.

Hypothetical Buu saga SSJ3 Gogeta vs Buu saga Ultimate Gohan

I'd say this is pretty close as the Buu saga makes it clear that Goku and Vegeta aren't leagues more powerful than their sons therefore their Gogeta fusion should be stronger than Gotenks but not by too much putting him around U.Gohan level imo.

I think they are around the same power, with Gogeta having the slight edge. It could go either way I think.

1. That's called bad writing. Same reason why SSB Goku was able to overpower fused Zamasu. Super has the worst power scaling and writing I have ever seen. that's why when I try to find out how strong a character is I look at the manga version of Super.

Trunks pushed back goku and was better when both were in this form. And goku in this form won against present zamasu

Future Zamasu > Present Zamasu
Goku states something was different and Future zamasu looked more competent against SSB goku (but not stronger)

Goku Black > SSJ2 Future Trunks > Future Zamasu
SSJ2 Trunks only traded blows with goku black once kicking black into a wall after a rage boost. (go back and watch the fight). SSJ2 Trunks also would have killed future zamasu twice through stabbing and final flash but he's immortal.

Super Trunks > Future zamasu
And black saying zamasu can take care of Trunks was because Trunks was near death after being stabbed in the back by him and was unaware he took a senzu afterwards. Plus zamasu being immortal and impervious to all known attacks from his perspective at the time, could wear anyone out with time.
