Did Vegeta speak to Goku from the afterlife?
Did Vegeta speak to Goku from the afterlife?
Or was it an illusion/hallucination? During his battle with Freeza.

I was an illusion created by Toei to add more poignancy and drama to Goku's fight with Freeza. Goku saw Vegea's naked ass and became inspired to bust out his strongest Kaioken possible.

DRAGON BALL IS THE KING OF (Fighting) ANIME!!!!!!! In my opinion, at least...
My reaction to anything about Dragon Ball post-2013 that I don't like and/or is stupid.

This scene? Considering that Vegeta mentions Bardock and King Vegeta, neither of whom are familiar to Goku, it could not have been Goku's own imagination.
edit: It's also unclear to me, going by the dialogue alone, if what we see in that scene is a vision Goku is having, or if he's just hearing Vegeta talk to him (and the vision is only there for us, the viewers). Assuming it is so, it could not have been his own imagination, as he would not know what Bardock and King Vegeta look like.

No, it never happened in the manga. In the original manga, basically after Freeza did his one technique that sliced a trench through the ground, Goku just decided to risk it all on the 20x Kaiou-ken hoping that Freeza was bluffing about how much power he was holding back still. The whole being held underwater and hallucinating everyone, only to surge out and use the 20x Kaiou-ken was filler embellishment.

Going by the manga it never happened..
If anime is considered, goku could not have been imagining this as vegeta took names goku never heard of..
So I guess you could say vegeta talked to him in a way..
It's best to leave it to what it is though, filler

The Lord moves in mysterious ways but you don't have to. Please use your blinker
