DBS is in the same canon as the DB/DBZ Anime Continuity?

With Pirozhki, Caroni, and Miss Piiza existing there, whereas they don't exist in the DBZ manga

DBS is a continuation of both the DB manga and DB/DBZ anime.

DBS is the official continuation after the Buu saga, where GT for example, is simply a what if story.

Super seems to follow Kai since you do have filler references from Kai.

It's most definitely a sequel to Kai first and foremost since it blatantly references filler that was from there and kept over from Z like Ginyu the frog.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

As far as I can understand it, DBS is in the space between the death of Buu and his appearance as Uub at the end of DBZ. A span of ten years or more had passed in that time.

The events of the DB special YO!, the events of Battle of Gods and Resurrection of F and the DBS (which adapts the previously mentioned 2 films) are occurring in this timeline.

So yes, it's canon.

As others have stated, Super is more a direct sequel to Kai, given how much it references to filler kept in that show.

To add to what the others said about it being a sequel to Kai, it also uses Kai's footage for some of its flashbacks.

Kai and Z are nearly the same show so it doesn't matter which one you watch before watching Super, just keep in mind that certain filler in Z won't be brought up in Super.

In terms of the original DB, there's only one so it's canon to both Kai and Z.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I expect we'll see more elements of Z's filler in Super eventually. Most likely we'll see the other Kai's again, and I wouldn't be surprised if more filler stories/characters get cameos or are referneced in some form.

Yeah I do think it's just canon to the Dragon Ball Kai anime only which is like 90% canon to the manga.

It makes sense because this anime aired directly following Kai. If all the kids had just watched Kai and then this continued on from it then people might wonder where Gregory is and the like.

So while Gregory and Caring exist, characters like Gar kick Jr and Pikkon most likely don't.

I also think that Dragon Ball Super Anime is the chronological successor of DB Kai (Except for obviously the EoS portion).
Although, IIRC there are some contradictions, like Freeza watching Goku VS Buu in hell.
