Can #18 (and #17) still be deactivated/activated by the remote controller?
Or do you thing that the deactivation/activation functionality was removed together with the bomb? No evidence for that though. Is there anything about it in the guides? If the remote still works, imagine Kuririn getting his hands again on one of those. Telling #18 to ‘shut up’ would be a literal threat. Or ‘turning her on or off’ in sex. LOL.
Also come to think about it the controller could reactivate the androids, right? If so then why was Kuririn so reluctant to shut down #18?He could just shut her down and take her to Bulma's for reprogramming, then turn her on again.

Hindsight. And I think Cell could potentially still absorb her, so Krillin would have to turn her off and then blast her lifeless body. Not like 16 couldve done much if he did.Speedster wrote:Or do you thing that the deactivation/activation functionality was removed together with the bomb? No evidence for that though. Well but he didn't need to kill her. That’s the point. He made it as if shutting her down would automatically mean her death, but killing her would be a separate step he would need to make as a desperate move. Also #18 stood better chances to not be absorbed by Cell if Kuririn shut her down and hid her somewhere. What is more would Cell become perfect if he absorbed a deactivated #18? I don't think so.

no, because shenron only removed the bomb, nothing else.

theoretically it should still work, but it would be somewhat morally abhorrent.
if there was a button that could just 'shut you down' I'm sure you'd feel very distressed by that, and even more so if someone used it on you or threatened to. it's not right to be able to control someone's body like that.

She should be deactivable
I mean what better way for Goku to to SSB2 than killing krillin and shutting down his wife
In all seriousness, as yes, she is still an Android, what is not there is the bomb, everything else is in place, she can be very well deactivated by the remote..
I say it's a good thing, she never will have any sleep problems! Just press a button and there you go

Theoretically, they can still be deactivated/activated by the controller. They are still Androids (or cyborgs I should say) and the only thing that was removed was the self destruct bomb.
