The fact that Toei are using U6 cast in their original episodes makes me quite confident that the next Toriyama arc involves them. Hopefully it means Goku and co visiting U6 due to something happening and not for the hell of it hence the Toriyama twist Toyo is on about.

I do not see the connection here..
They even used Gohan in their original arc, I don't think that's gonna lead to anything..

And can someone please tell me what this toriyama twist I am hearing about, I missed something Toyotaro said? Can someone point me to it

Yeah in the copy vegeta arc the fuel for the time machine was foreshadowed.

Toyotaro said the manga will get ahead of the anime again, and there's no way Toyotaro can finish FT Trunks in less than 2 chapters.
If that's true, the next major arc won't start before February at the earliest.

They're at the final battle, I can totally see Toyotaro squeezing that into a single chapter like he did with the Champa arc and then doing the post battle stuff in a few panels.

I wonder about that. They just arrived in the Future for the first time. I don't think there will be so many back and forth trips like in the anime, but I don't expect they succeed yet.
Black is about to reveal his SSR form and Beerus still didn't kill Zamasu from the main timeline.

Fight Black SSR, Immortal Zamasu, give him a reason to fuse and become Merged Zamasu, beat him, call Zeno and end the arc, seems too much even for a chapter of a rushed promotional manga like this.

And can someone please tell me what this Toriyama twist I am hearing about, I missed something Toyotaro said? Can someone point me to it

What will happen in the rest of the “Future Trunks arc” and afterwards?!
The rest of the “Future Trunks arc” will take a slightly different approach with how things play out, compared to the TV anime. And after that…? “That promise” everyone is waiting for will be fulfilled! But you know Toriyama-sensei! Things won’t go as you expect! Look forward to it!!

That seems very probable if he has a slightly higher page count to work with than usual.

New Dragon Ball isn't going anywhere any time soon, we'll get past end of Z eventually, if not some time in the next year or two.
I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason we haven't gone past end of Z is because Toriyama wasn't sure how long this would last. Toriyama started writing the Trunks arc before the Champa arc even aired, so it still wouldn't have been clear then and even when he started writing the next arc he might not have been sure, but by the arc after next (which he has probably started work on) he'll have know full well from the beginning that Dragon Ball is staying. If the promise is the tournament I wouldn't be surprised if it's the last arc before we go past Z, in fact that be a nice little way to end Super's status as an interquel.

The first thing that comes to mind hearing this is planet sadala.. well chiquita seems like your wish might be fulfilled after all
The things don't go as expected means it's not gonna be just a trip.. that's good to know too..
But the part of everyone waiting for it makes me think it's not sadala, I didn't hear many people say outside kanzenshuu that they are waiting for it..

Maybe it's the promise of the rematch between hit and Goku without restrictions ( could that be considered a promise I don't know, sadala wasn't much of a promise either )
In which case hit coming to assassinate Goku is toriyama idea..
I find that highly unlikely though..

Or maybe they at last remembered Gohans promise saying he will train and we will get an arc about him and his self realization of finding a balance between studies and training..
This of course is not happening but I had to mention the possibility

The entire F arc was skipped, so it's kinda hard to say if Gohan counts.

If the upcoming Hit episodes were Toriyama's next arc we'd have had confirmation by now, along with a key visual. Instead we're told we're getting the announcement during Jump Festa.

And we know the fight is still ongoing in episode 72.

Hit arc is probably an anime only arc, and not the Toriyama arc that is going to be announced.

Yeah I know, I was referring to the manga's cover, his actual noses and faces are a lot like Yamamuro sadly, I don't know what happened there but he drawed both Goku and Hit's faces really well.
