You'd thin with all the DBZ games on the PS2, I'd have one by now. I'm not that into fighting games, but from the looks of it, this seems like another game that relies on quantity over quality. Let's hope it's not, though.

Menus that speak aloud is cool... until, ur, the "do you want to save the stage you worked your ass off to beat?" isn't. ...

Blargh, considering that they advertised the storymode for ShinBudokai2/AnotherRoad, if such is not advertized for this game, it will more than likely not be creative, and therefore make me ask why the game was made... people are still into Neo... o.o.
Wow, that came out... how long ago? Guh, the last year was way too eventful...

Maybe this time they'll give us that 60 hour RPGesque story mode they promised us in NEO.

Heck, they used old voice clips in the last game, for LIVING actors. I'm speaking of the English track though; I don't know if they reused anything for the Japanese track.

I was excited about this when I first saw it on Daizex's homepage. I thought that the PS2 (the only console I have and will have for at least the next several years) would be dead now as far as new DBZ games go. But I guess not.

Now that I've settled down though, I'm thinking that this won't be much different from the last game. New characters will be fun to mess around with, but I hope they'll do more than that. Speaking of characters, I was a little pissed off that the Wii version of Tenkaichi 2 got a few new characters and an extra stage over the PS2 version. Like djkalteraphine, I hope those characters are included this time...for BOTH versions.

Tenkaichi 2 made some nice efforts to improve upon the first game. But even though I was happy with the new stuff, the game didn't last me as long as the previous game because it was still pretty similar. And, they didn't even wait very long to release that sequel, so it wasn't THAT long ago that I had already played through the first game.

I'm definitely getting this game anyway, but I'll have to wait for more news to be REALLY excited. As others have mentioned, I hope that they do something good with the story mode this time. I too am sick of playing through the same story over and over, and hope that they give us a lot of new scenarios this time.

And if they wanna keep the previous game's world map, I hope the places that you land and walk around in are actually more than just a tiny square of land with invisible walls. Even the infamous DBZ Sagas gave you so much more than that.

Hmm, it seems to have some kind of transformation animations, Bardock is looking at the moon and the next pic is Ozaru Bardock, that would be nice instead of *flash* *transformed*.

In character department, I'm really happy with King Vegeta and King Cold (I've talking about the inclusiong of those for ages ^^) and with Nail there (and Piccolo Daimao from the Wii version), makes me think if this time they actually keep the promise of "every character that was ever playable will be in this game", which will mean perhaps Kid Uub, Teen Trunks and Saiyan, Chibi Goku and Saiyan forms and maybe even Chichi. If that's good or bad, it's up to your taste. One of the next characters I would like to see would be Bra, I would like to see what would they make her do, plus we need more female characters, the game's looking like an sausege party xD

So much for my hopes that we would get a next-gen DBZ game this year. A PS2 / Wii release means we get a 2007-2008 DBZ game with hardware made in 2000. This game will never take advantage of the Wii's power (which is already outdated in PS3 / Xbox 360 standards) which means that *graphically* we get the same game we got two years ago, but with an even bigger character roster. Can't expect anything more music-wise, but perhaps we'll get an even more polished Story mode.
Who gives a flying fuck about graphics? Graphics are overrated. So long as I can tell who's who on the screen I don't care. They could go back and make a new 8-bit for all I care, as long as it's fun. And I *love* the fact it's a PS2 game. Splitting a set of games up onto multiple consoles is stupid, especailly when the new console is expensive as fuck.
Looks good but America and Europe will once again get shafted with the music and an incorrect name. We never get the music from the Japanese version! Well hopefully by the time this game comes out the freeloader for the Wii will be out also.
I'm betting the new game will keep the original music. Why? Because the new Season Sets do.

Anyway, here's my idea of the new characters this time around. (New as defined by the modiefied Wii version, not the original PS2 release.)

1. GT Kid Goku
2. SSJ GT Kid Goku
3. SSJ2 GT Kid Goku
4. SSJ3 GT Kid Goku
5. Chi-Chi
6. King Kai
7. King Cold
8. Nail
9. Dr. Wheelo
10. Android 14
11. Android 15
12. Dore
13. Niezu
14. Tamborine
15. Blue (Corrected now!)
16. Purple (Ninja's FTW!)
17. Dr. Wheelo
18. Toma
19. Oozaru Toma
20. Seripa
21. Oozaru Seripa
22. Panbukin
23. Oozaru Panbukin
24. Totepo
25. Oozaru Totepo
26. GT Goten
27. SSJ GT Goten
28. Pui Pui
29. King Vegeta
30. Oozaru King Vegeta

That was Blue, actually. But I wouldn't mind seeing Silver as a character, too. Come to think of it, I'd like to see more characters from Dragonball in general - I mean, just because they can't blow up planets doesn't meant they can't put up a fight.

Here we go again with another "every caracther that threw a punch in the series". Could you guys please keep this a news related topic? Create another topic for characters if necessary.

Disappointed , Like a child wanting a bike for christmas and getting clothes.

I thought the new dragonball related game on Wii was not "another typical fighting game." Sure I love the Budokai Tenkaichi series. It's my favourite DBZ games.

How ever I had in mind an RPG or an Action/adventure or a beat 'em up (like sagas but good) and instead we got Budokai Tenkaichi 3. I hate saying this beacuse I know I how people about GT , But Kid Goku from GT with SSJ-SSJ transformations had better be in.

I'm also cringing right now at the fact I think , Bio-Brolly will be in it

You guys are forgetting that it's actually not 30 new characters, last game had 129, with the new Wii exclusives you get 135, wich let's us with 15 to make 150, they already revealed 4 (Ozaru King Vegeta his implyed), so that leaves us with 11. Now if they tend to keep the "every character" promise, then we have:

From Final Bout:
Teen Trunks
Teen Trunks Super Saiyan
GT Goku
GT Goku Super Saiyan
GT Goku Super Saiyan 3 (just to make things right)
(Remember that GT tottally forgot about Super Saiyan 2, so Goku never actually tranformed into it)

From Budokai 3:
Kid Uub

From Super Dragon Ball Z:
Chichi

So that's 7 more, which now leaves us with about 4 characters. Of course we could have more since last time they promised 120 and gave us 9 more.

Well, as someone whose last DBZ game was Final Bout (Japan Import) on the PS1, would you guys recommend I hold out for this one? I was thinking about grabbing a PS2 DBZ fighting game finally for the summer, but maybe I should wait since I've never played ANY of them past Final Bout.

(oh yeah, the US releases do NOT have original voices, correct?)

Fuck is actually quite inexpensive. Simply go to your local college campus with a bottle a Jägermeister. It might even get you multiple fucks.

If you're referring to the PS3, however...well, I love mine. To each his own, though. No DragonBall Z game that I saw last generation really taxed the hardware at any rate. I seriously doubt Atari/Dimps/whoever would make full use of the Cell processor.

I have three wishes for the cast of this game:

-Tenshinhan should get either his multiple arms or his multiplication attack from Dragon Ball. They could just dump the Blast 2 Kikoho and make it an Ultimate only move, and make it so it only knocks down Tenshinhan if used twice or more at once.

-A separate adult Goku for early DBZ/End of DB, fighting without his blue clothes and Kaioken or Super Saiyan transformations. He could get Tayoken replacing the Kaioken, After Image replacing gathering energy, a head butt attack as one of his Blast 2s and the Original Super Kamehameha as his ultimate.

-A "what if" Final Form King Kold. They've already given him Trunk's sword, after all, they might as well go all out in the crazyness.

Edit: Actually, it's four... Add the Oozoaru punch to Kid Goku!

Ah. Then I shall adjust my list acordingly!

Wrong. They never said 120 characters. They said over 120 characters. More than likely this 150 is the same. Thus anywhere from 151 to 159 are planned. So that gives anywhere from 16 to 24 new characters, if you go with 135 for BT2. For those of us with the PS2 version it's anywhere from 22 to 30 new ones. :) (That is, assuming the ones in the modified BT2 are carried over, and I doubt that they wouldn't be.)
(oh yeah, the US releases do NOT have original voices, correct?)
GH B3 and both BT games have the option for English or JP voices. Though the audio for BT1 is crappy and there are a number of glitches (it not staying on JP when you shut it off, JP dialogue on the English track, etc). BT2 seems to be generally fine for audio though, with the exception of Goku calling Metal Cooler Freeza upon defeating him. >.>

Oh, I'd love a PS3 (and Wii for that matter, the 360 can rot) but... well, it's just too damned fucking expensive for me to get one. I'll not have a PS3 until a year or so before the PS4 comes out, most likely. Possibly not even until after the PS4 as I need to wait for a *reasonable* price.

Budokai 1 and Budokai 2 are dub only. However Budokai 3 (Greatest Hits edition) and Budokai Tenkaichi/Sparking series have Japanese voices, but not Japanese music. (BT 1 uses Budokai music and BT2 has original compositions)

YES! A new game. And it has the king of all saiyajins in it. XD
I agree Goku's design looks a little better in this one. I just hope its not as monotonous as previous Sparkings.

There's no way I'd be able to afford a ps3 anyway.

Is it just me or is Bardock stareing right at the moon in this pic http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h40/D ... _873lo.jpg ? Maybe there's a night/day feature where if you're a Saiyan with a tail and it's night you hold a button to search for the moon and then transform. It wouldn't be the most amazing feature ever, but it would be nice.

I do. They're not everything, but updated graphics sure help in creating something "new". Budokai 2 looked completely different to me from Budokai 1 thanks to its different visual style.

Also, old consoles restrict the amount of thngs you can do. Not every design team can make a God Of War you know.
"Destiny"... people claim by force what they desire, wreak havoc upon others in order to acquire it... and they call it "destiny".
