But yeah, there are rarly any consistent spellings that bring the puns across when it comes to DragonBall names over there, what with their Gokous and Klilyns and all.
So then we're not all that different from Japan itself, are we? XD;

By the way, does anyone know the name of the Song that plays on the DVD menu and the Set trailers?

Not that I'm completely supporting this set, but while checking the Sunday newspaper ads, I saw that Frys is selling the set for $30 on account of their anniversary sale. For those comparing, that's about $10 less than what it's currently going for on amazon:

(Then again, I'm sure that the price would even out if you were to include the gas money used to get there :?.)

You mean the extremely repetitive song that has the same guitar riff over and over with lyrics saying something about "the dragon, the dragon" and so on? Judging from their previous selections, it's a local band in Dallas that hasn't been signed.

I have kind of a funny store relating to this box set. After I watched one of the DVD's I took it out of my computer and threw it on my bed ... except it missed the bed ... and flew out the window...

It was 4 floors up so I knew it had to have some ding or scratches on it. It must have hit the side of that other house pretty hard cause a piece of the corner actually chipped off. It was Disc 1 so no REAL loss but still...

Hot damn, there's a picture to flash around on YouTube. Or hell, making a vid on throwing a disc out a 4 floor building's window would be something. It'd top Desire's Cha-La dancing.

No worries, somewhere in a far off land, ETC, Corey, FD, and many others smile wide. You've brought back the phad of playing frisby with DVD discs, or in this case, the season sets. :P

I'd like to see a dramatic representation of that on YouTube. Right as you scream, flashes of the fake Namek episodes would fade into the screen causing you to change your mind and just kinda walk away from the window.

When I first saw that pic, it took me less than a second to find that bright orange disc just laying there. I guess one could call that a plus--it's easy to find if you ever lose it (and actually want to find it again).

This would be the far off land where relative damage to a DVD set meant that the relative ammount of money FUNimation technically got for it dissappeared.

No such luck. Infact if he were a completionist he'd have to go and get another set.

Big whine.

I was gonna ask if you actually went back and got it, but it looks like you did. Of you give it a try, I might be able to play at least some of the episodes. A friend of mine had a DVD that was incredibly scratched up on the side of it that matters and plays perfectly :?.

Also, I just realized that this set starts off with a massive amount of filler episodes-- not exactly the best way to start off any season set.

Damn I was planning to buy this boxset from Target today but after seeing this clip uploaded on youtube I'm thinking again...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uF_QCHbJarw

Sorry for posting that long ass clip of episode 40 above, but if you watch near the end of it at around 8:19-9:04... all the outlines of Gohan, Krilliun and Bulma literally vanish which is even worse than the Nappa foaming in the mouth incident

Even *Gasp* the shaking is so bad that it almost looks like Bulma's bra and pants almost vanish off her

Now I think I'm gonna hold onto my cash for a while longer

Even a defender of the set like me has to sigh and save there money.
The only other reason I would buy this is because it's the Frieza saga uncut which hasn't been released before all the way.

Keep in mind that Youtube's quality is Flash video, and is therefore not a good indicator for actual DVD quality.

Keep in mind that that should only effect speed and amount of pixels (not to mention audio quality folks!) The outline loss is embarassing IMO, way to go Funi.
