Power of Botamo

Post by Lord Frieza » Sun Dec 11, 2016 6:31 am

Ok I've been wondering about this guy, his power and abilities.

First off his "Nul Damage" power is easily one of the most hax powers that has ever appeared in the series, surpassing even Buu's regeneration or Black's super zenkai. Think about it, while we don't know the full mechanics behind the ability, none can hurt him. Not SSB Goku, not Hit, not Beerus or even Vegito and Zamasu could hurt him! Since on known limit has been placed on the power that could also mean things like Buu's candy beam and Black's scythe might have no affect on him either. The only two attacks that could possibly work are Hakaishin's destruction power and Zeno-Oh's all out annihilation.

When it comes to his power he's no pushover either, despite his poor showing against Goku the guy is one of the strongest guys in his universe and even Goku acknowledged his power (all be it collectively with the other U6 fighters). Hell Base Goku actually had to dodge his attacks, yes this was while he was digesting but that still a a very note worthy feat. I honestly wish he and Buu had fought first that fight would have been much more interesting.

So all in all the most disliked U6 fighter really isn't all that bad. True he didn't get much screen time or character development but then he's a tournament character and most rarely get much time spent on them passed their fights anyway.

Botamo's invulnerability certainly make him s formidable opponent, but the issue is that up against a very smart or tactical fight, as was with the case with Goku, it can easily be countered given the fact that he is not proficient in hand-to-hand combat, is actually very slow on his feet and perhaps his biggest detriment, is that he has no centre of gravity. Knock him on his back and he's done for. He's pretty like a turtle in that regard, when you think about it. He's helpless and defenceless in certain positions.

Your right, I'm not trying to say he's some hidden jem, just that there's more to him.

Also I think a lot of his problem is that he relies on his invulnerability to much and as a result he's never mastered hand to hand combat or improved his balance issue. However I will say that he's not slow, at least in the grand scheme of dragon ball. I think its more of a case that he lacks coordination and balance due to not training. If he did train he could turn into a real monster.

Edit: Its also note worthy that even though Goku can get Botamo into a vulnerable possession he still thinks that if it was not for the tournament rules he would not be able to "beat" Botamo (although Goku dose has ways of getting ride of him).

However I have grow to really like the guy for some reason, maybe its because I think he's rather cool in an odd way. :)

Botamo's power is broken..
That is not something you should have, it should be against the rules of universe or something..
Seriously null damage to any attack, that's the definition of op..
At least he can be thrown around, not that it would do any damage to him either..

I see two ways for someone to beat him..

First, tire him out, he has less stamina, he neglectes his training no good moves either, just don't let him hit you.. he will get tired fast. That wouldn't beat him but it will give you enough time to run away..

Second, throw him out from the planet..
No oxygen, no botamo..
Now if he is shown to be able to breathe in space like Frost..
Why not make him the omni king too now, he is too op as he is..
The Lord moves in mysterious ways but you don't have to. Please use your blinker

Botamo is probably no stronger than 100% Freeza on Namek.

Piccolo said that SSj Goku would be unable to damage Botamo. So I do think he would be above SSj3 Buu saga Goku via power scaling.

How can he be that weak? Goku said all the fighters were strong for a start plus even while not going all out in base form he still didn't just stand there and try to tank Botamo's attacks.

Going by that his power must be somewhere between upper Buu Saga and below RoF final form Frieza. Also his lack luster ki attacks don't mean anything, if the guy is just naturally powerful and never trained then his ki attack will be very basic. Just look at Yakon, that monster has a power rivaling Namek Frieza's final form yet he cannot fly or shot ki blasts.

Botamo having a power to negate attacks doesn't mean he's incredibly powerful.

Ok I was on the fence about it but I'm dumping Zamasu and Frost as avatars. Botamo needs a fan, and that fan is now me.

I like to think he's equal to Boo because of their similarities. His attack negation is his best weapon, but It probably has a certain limit. He can probably get killed by Champa or Beerus. Likewise, we don't know if he can survive in space or not.

I initially thought he is an asshole. But he actually seems like a nice guy after all, a bit cocky though.

Here's a question, is Botamo's ability potent enough to bounce back cholesterol and blood clots? If so, he'll never suffer from dementia, strokes, or heart attacks. In fact, if it can prevent damage to his insides, he might never age. This, of course, leads to the only question that matters:

If it weren't for the Type 2 Diabetes, would Botamo be immortal?
Retired.

There's any hint that he can nullify slash or piercing attacks?
I learned english listening to songs. So I don't know anything about. The day you had to learn play piano by just listening .mp3, you'll understand.

No but it depends on what version your looking at, in the manga his body is very smooth and slippery so Goku's attacks just slide of him and it is apparently so effective that Goku would have had to go SSB to overcome it by raw force. This power could be over come by slashing attacks however your might need to make shore the angle was right.

Now in the anime its stated that Botamo sends any damage from attacks to another dimension. Thats a whole other kind of power. The ability is so effective even the kinetic energy and motion are taken out of the attack to the point that Goku's dead on hits didn't even move Botamo. If you did try to slice him up its likely your sword or ki blade would end up just harmlessly pushing into his skin.

His abilities are jack now that Goku knows the Mafuuba, and the fact that someone as inexperienced as Trunks can learn the technique in a couple minutes or so doesn't make it better either.

We saw a similar scenario with Buyon and Misokatsun.

While Buyon was defeated by freezing his body, Misokatsun's defense was actually broken through sheer force.
Besides, It seems a "vaporizing" technique like the one Beerus uses on Zamasu and Mashirito might actually be more than sufficient to take care of Botamo.

That being said, he gets extra credit for having unique abilities.
Universe 6 is actually pretty good in that department.

Botamo = Tank
Hit = ADC
Cabba = ADC
Maggeta = Tank
Frost = ADC

Reason of defeat = Unbalanced team composition.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

That's because of his special power. It has nothing to do with his strength.
