Vegeta wouldn't get focus over the main characters son. Not to mention in the preview we see Gohan and Goten crying there, Vegeta is nowhere around.

Exactly. I have no idea why Goku dying = Gohan being relevant. NEP is literally 30 seconds long you can't take anything from it.
The world and mythos of DB has been expanded Gohan is like on page 3 in terms of relevancy. Hit is from U6 no doubt they're gonna get involved add Beerus and Whis and Vegeta and even Zen-oh and the grand priest. Hell I'd play Piccolo above Gohan. Logically Gohan shouldn't be anyway near relevant and if he is then it is purely for dumb fanservice like Vegetto.

Gohan fans seem to believe that him appearing in an episode means he will do something big.

Goku becoming relevant because of his father's death is fan service? If this was Gohan from Z, he would definitely be motivated into action. If it happens its in- character and isn't simply fan service.

It's really dissapointing, I'd like somebody else being the protagonist of this arc, I hope somebody in the Dragon Ball Room comes up with a good idea for Gohan and Piccolo.

Main reason why I want Goku to die isnt because I'm tired of seeing him in the main protag spot but because deep down I have this hope/wish of him meeting up with Gine, kinda want to see how he interacts with his mom since they're doin slice of life stuffs it wouldnt hurt them to show Gine just 1x in anime form, tho I'm sure a lot of people here dont share the feeling of wanting to see Gine, even the thought of Bardock showing up or Broly pisses most of you all

Wasnt Gine created after his Dragon Ball manga ended so yeah that wasnt possible back then, but now with all the slice of life shiz going on and her existing theres a slim chance.

IN-universe she exists, so Goku had seven years to meet her and still didn't. And it's very unlikely that they'll have the two meet.

We don't know if they met or not. Little is known of the seven year gap.

I can't see Gohan getting that much of a power up that he becomes relevant. I mean even if he is to Fight Hit if it was in fact him who "killed" Goku (I don't think he will be dead but more in a death like state or a coma) Gohan has no chance against Hit who Goku probably couldn't have beat.

Gohan's not getting a power boost in filler lmao. I think hell have a role in some capacity this arc. He doesn't have to fight to do something.

Doesnt mean Toriyama or Toei cant put her in there somewhere, it wont mess up with EoZ anyways, we barely had any scene in that 7 yrs time gap so theres that too.

There isn't any because she is not lame.. she is awesome, my favorite girl in Dragonball!
But she now knows she is out of her league, not fighting opponents of god level is smart and not lame..
If she tries to investigate hit and finds him, she will die no questions..
