Seriously I've seen this argument where tons of people are ticked they made Videl a housewife, but it's not DB's fault you mistook teenage angst and rebellion for her true characterization. Yes she was a badass in high school, but she also chose a literal Boy Scout for a husband. As soon as Gohan gets to know her in the Buu arc she shows she's really not that abrasive, tough person and that's before she finds out her and her father who she thought was the greatest warrior on earth could get killed by 6-year old Goten's pinky finger.
I do support the need for some female warriors or role models for the new age of DB, and after a time skip I think some Slice of Life episodes of Videl helping turn Pan into the alpha-female you all wanted her to be would go a long way to redeeming her character. Something where Pan realizes for the first time all the warriors are men and Videl explains to her with the help of some Z flashbacks that women can fight too. A little PC for me but it would be a nice way to show Videl still has some character and use left in her.
I wonder if they even plan on changing the OP song for Super, we're 70 eps in and still no signs of changing it, I hear that One Piece gets its OP changed in 40-70eps max.

Dragon Ball Z had two opening songs, Kai had two, DB had one and GT had one. I wouldn't count on them changing it any time soon, DB has always been one of the few anime which don't change openings often, if at all.

Z and Kai both changed intros in the Buu arc, right? I stand by what I've said before about intro changes in Dragon Ball carrying a "this is the last arc" vibe.
Still, I agree with the idea I've seen here that when (if) they go past EoZ, that's when an intro change would fit best. There's nothing wrong with Chouzetsu, but it's been a good while now.

Someone somewehere (I can't remember where) said that what if this seemingly Toei Original Arc is actually a sort of bridging arc between the next Toriyama arc like actual bridging unlike the small hint in the Superhuman Water arc. Toei nailed the movie bridging in my opinion so I would totally be behind this.

If this is correct, this episode will show hit's power's in full glory, then when he loses to a tough guy in the tournament, it would bring in the tension..
When piccolo, gohan, maybe goten? Fight hit, it would be an excellent place to showcase how powerful piccolo and Gohan have gotten, if it's in the plan to use them in an arc, the power jump won't be random..
The great battle of this arc Ultimate Gohan raged , piccolo gaint form full power and goten ssj raged vs hit.. ya ya, Vegeta can come too

I don't think there is anything concrete where I read it from I think the person was being more wishful but yeah your comment about the power-ups. Had they instead of the Superhuman Water arc given us a couple of episodes of Trunks training with the Kaioshin and all the Dabura stuff, tease a few things etc that could have ironed out a lot of issue's later on in that arc. Toyo had the right idea but considering he was on a monthly schedule I don't think he should of bothered elongating it but still he has some great ideas and would be great to see what he can do on a weekly schedule.
I don't get why so many people are saying it's a Toei filler arc when there's not a shred of evidence for it. This feels much more like something Toriyama himself would do. Using his own new characters and giving them their spotlight. (Hit finally showing off his killing techniques) definitely a Toriyama thing!

If the announcement of new arc wasn't nearly in the same day as the episode airs, and hit coming back hadn't been long known with many spoilers to go with, I would have totally believed this to be a toriyama idea.. it has got that vibe form it..
All things considered though, it seems like a filler, a good one at that

I don't even want Videl to be a fighter. I want her to not be so bland that she has the personality of Mrs Briefs now. I prefer Videl with spunk. That was the character I liked back in the day, not this.

Maybe the outline ( tough I'm very doubtful about it) but definitely not the awful ( IMO) character design
of theses aliens we see in the preview. And I'm speaking. just in terms of color choices. Theses clothes with flashy colors don't fit the dark blue skin of the aliens at all. It doesn't look to me as something that Toriyama would do but I can be wrong.

If Toei show Hit's strongest techniques then they would have had to consult with Toriyama as he has not revealed them yet so Toriyama should be involved in the arc no matter how small.

What makes you think Toriyama has that much control over the character techniques? Do you think Toriyama invented KKxSSB? I don't know either, just saying we have no evidence either way.

The vocals utterly kill it. It sounds like some after years special song for old people with how light it is on energy and passion.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

True, its like the vocalist is a drunk old man or something similar, there is literally little to no energy in the song, compared to the songs in DB/Z/KAI/FLOW's Cha-La ver and even GT this is by far their worst OP to date, I honestly wouldnt have minded if they just used Flow's Cha-La remake or something close to Kai's.

It's build up isn't too bad....but then when you expect the energy to rise when you get to the chorus, it doesn't. It feels very half hearted. Like the beginning had tired them out. The riff ain't too bad though. Even something as cheesy as "Fight it Out" had more energy to it.

I wholeheartedly disagree. There's plenty of energy in the chorus. It starts out calm, and progressively becomes more energetic up until said chorus. It takes getting used to, that's all. Perhaps 70 episodes isn't enough...?
Using Cha-La again would be a terrible idea, though. Every series had differing opening themes, so to go back to Z's would be needlessly regressing.

But this is something different as they can't say this is Hit's killing techniques when Toriyama has something different for the future arcs.
This arc could be a Toei original but the context of the story is huge.
