The impact of the 12 universe tournament

The tournament to me states the urgency of everyone needing to step up their game, I believe the tournament will contain even more fighters than the last one possibly. to me this is pretty apparent due to the fact that i believe the King of Planet Sadal that Cabba brought up during the fight with Vegeta is likely to make an appearance, i believe this was clear foreshadowing for Vegeta vs the King of Sadal. Vegeta out of respect for his father has never called himself a King, beating the Sadal King would boost his reputation and his pride as a saiyan, it's a fight that would be like Vegeta vs Cabba on steroids and it would be the greatest Saiyan vs. Saiyan fight since Vegeta vs Goku.


The individual character impacts:

Piccolo

Piccolo during the tournament gave up his spot so Vegeta could fight Frost, his character could definitely stand to gain some development in strength, one thing Super does wrong imo is make nearly the entire storyline thus far about Vegeta and Goku, without them nobody really is there to get shit done. Piccolo has potential for sure, during the Trunks farewell you could clearly see Gohan as mystic after having trained with Piccolo, this to me proves he's taking his training seriously and i believe his character could gain even more power through this namekian body.

Fusing with a universe 6 namek to me is the clear cut way to become truly strong in the unconfirmed amount of time until the tournament begins. Basing the role universe 7 Nameks are tasked with we can assume the Universe 6 Nameks are also stuck with the job of protecting those very super dragon balls. Given the absurd difference between the usefulness of those Dragon Balls perhap those nameks are much stronger, we have no information about their history currently but given a bit more information we could get some very relevant confirmation of Universe 6 Nameks having more of an impact even if they don't necessarily get their own arc.

It's been since first form cell that he's been given this upgrade and i think it's about time he becomes more relevant strength wise. becoming a Namekian God would be incredibly character development and it would allow him to stand against powerful enemies and bridge the insane gap of strength between Goku and Vegeta and everyone else. Somewhere between SS3 and SS Blue is where id put this transformation. Resurrection of F was a wake up call that without Goku or Vegeta they are incredibly defenseless.

Gohan and Piccolo are working hard to get stronger, they realize their current strength isn't enough at all. Dragon ball Z did a great job of giving even weaker characters their spotlights(Tien vs. Cell, Tien vs. Buu, Krillin vs. Frieza). Dragon Ball Super in general expands the world of Dragon Ball we previously knew, it opens up near endless amounts of opportunity for growth. Eventually i expect a war arc could transpire and that'd require a combined effort to all work out.

Gohan

Gohan got a pretty big wakeup call when he figured out what was really happening and why he really came back with the time machine, having a new born daughter and living a comfortable life with a job he loves and a wife he adores made him a bit soft. Counting on other people is a really big mistake even Future Trunks made, his fight with Vegeta and the lesson he learned gave him the motivation to train hard and realize he must get stronger to the best of his ability. This rubbed off on Gohan i believe, this concept is likely to be expanded upon if Goku does in fact die by HIt. If this is the case Vegeta, Gohan, and Piccolo could immediately take focus, speculation has some people thinking HIt isn't the only assassin in this arc given the next episode preview.

Goku out of the picture is a very big deal, he's always been the sliver of hope everyone always relies on, who constantly gets shit done. A pretty big weight in going to be put on Gohans shoulders especially, given that he's the next strongest in the family and not only does he got to worry about his wife and kid, but Goten and Chi Chi are now an extra burden for him to have to protect. Gohan has this incredible potential but let it slip away from him, he could gain either the super saiyan form Trunks recently used or perhaps the Super Saiyan God Ritual, i'm not certain if he's going to automatically go into SS Blue but id personally like to see a bit of a rising in the ranks rather than an asspull power up off the bat.

Vegeta

Vegeta would not appreciate anyone defeating Goku before him, and killing him no less is going to cause a shit storm hit might not be able to get away from. Perhaps Goku is dying in the next arc to give everyone else a bit of room to grow. Vegeta was destroyed by Hit without a chance in hell, given he was clueless on Hit's ability but it certainly didn't help a whole lot he didn't even get a single strike in. Vegeta vs Hit seems to be in need of a round 2, Goku's death would give Vegetas character focus and likely would give him a shoe in to become the hero of the arc. Gohan also potentially could get this spot, but Vegeta is believable right now and Gohan has yet to show anything close to Hit's level.

Vegeta's SSB is proven to be stronger since while Goku trained the Mafuba, Vegeta trained in the hyperbolic time chamber, unless Goku uses Kaioken he can't beat Vegeta in SSB vs. SSB alone. Goku dying if at all should be temporary but it would require Vegeta to be the main forces in any sort of fight when and if Goku does perish.

Now, I REALLY HOPE someone will awake and tell me when this could ever happen.

The destruction of mortals in an entire universe was reduced to a tense. A 5 vs 5 tournament was, in the end, a 2 vs 4.

So, please, please, please, STOP for those dreams. You'll end unsatisfied.
Very high chance for a free for all qualifiying phase, 8 characters will face finals, that's all.
And no Gohan or Piccolo, we're talking of best of the best of entire universes.

More like how do people assume everyone in the tournament is berrus tire..
If you guys remember, yamcha is one of the strongest fighter in the universe too..
Plenty of guys like him will show up who are strong but will ultimately get defeated by stronger beings..

I dunno about that. After the huge Goku and Vegeta wank fest that was the Universe 6 Tournament arc I kinda think Toriyama might actually be that stupid.
