I am totally convinced if Cell ever came back he'd not give as much of a shit about Gohan and would all be about Goku. Hell I am convinced that if the Cell arc was ever changed or redone, Gohan would never have been the one to kill Cell and it'd have been Goku or maybe Trunks (Which to be honest the latter wouldn't have been a bad choice)
Well, it's not like Gohan actually did anything prior to the Cell Games, so changing the one who beats Cell wouldn't be a bad choice.
You ain't wrong. I like him, but I definitely call his build up poorly done and not well thought out for the Cell Games Conclusion.

Pretty sure most of em are actually fans who do it because they like and are unhappy with him. So they make deprecation jokes to feel better and cope with their disappointment.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

It's not trolling or bashing, it's looking back at what Super has presented so far and concluding ''Yeah, the chances are against Gohan to actually shine the way Gohan fans want him to"
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

HeroR wrote:The characters in Super can work with Goku and they're treated like equals to him. Goku just being in the room doesn't take away from the character. In Z, the characters were so depended on Goku that they couldn't go an episode without mentioning him in some way even by hoping he will arrived, get better, training to get stronger, our last hope, being like him, ect. Goku was wanked to hell in Z, even when he wasn't in the room and everyone else was secondary to him. In fact, this was a major issue Goku had, which is why he didn't want to do anything in the Buu Saga.

I guess if it happens again, roshi being stronger than yamcha will be kind of canon.
How shitty can yamcha get by not training? I mean, Roshi PC shouldnt be over 200, and Yamcha, even in the lowest case scenario cant be lower than ten times that number.

Well, there was a line from Kuririn about training with Roshi for the androids, and it's only in the anime that they showed Roshi rejecting the idea. There's also how that power level measurement from the Saiyan Saga wasn't in Max Power mode.

Still, every single time he even appears it's the same lines that have been said since Battle of Gods if not even before that.

I totally get that, I make the same jokes about Goten and Trunks now and again, but it's just gotten really old and tiring at this point. They used to be funny but it's beyond beating a dead horse now.

If you really think the majority of these people are as reasonable about this topic as you are, then you're gravely mistaken. I actually don't care if someone doesn't want Gohan to come back if they don't like him. Not liking him because you think he's boring is perfectly fine. It's just an opinion. Saying he's useless is something I will debate against however. It's just objectively wrong when you look at the story.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

It's because Gohan was such a big character that people including me keep doing it. We don't just do it to be funny. We do it to ease the pain. So we get in on the joke and have a laugh to fill the void. The jokes would end if they stopped with the teasing and just phased out the character, but they keep on bringing him in and out, so the jokes don't stop. There's a reason we don't hear "Where's Lunch?" jokes often. Cause she's never around so there's no need to make those jokes unless she kept popping in and out randomly.

Honestly, I don't mind WHO is heavily involved in the action, personally. I think that guys like Gohan and Piccolo are mostly used in spurts of awesomeness. They do a great thing, or have a good fight every now and then, but the main BIG battles are Goku and Vegeta's. However, they HAVE been building Gohan up a bit IF slightly. Maaaaybe he'll do something.
But I'm unsure if the only hints at Gohan being "Back in Business" were just once a Saga.
Off the top of my head:
- Said he'll train after the 'F' arc.
- Said he'd like to be in the Universe Six arc's tournament, but had a conference.
- Was tired and looked serious-ish in the end of the Trunks arc.
Or I was wrong. Are these right?
Vegeta: How?! How are you so much more powerful than me?! Goku Black: Because Vegeta, a rose by any other name.... is still Goku.

Add that episode 73 will focus on him, so there are chances he got a great new motivation. Altough I don't like it at all, I'm happy for Gohan fans that he could be back in action, hope this will stop 25% of the complaints I'm forced to read everywhere.
I learned english listening to songs. So I don't know anything about. The day you had to learn play piano by just listening .mp3, you'll understand.

There were a couple more, like when vegeta said Gohan had more potential than him and Goku, when Gohan learned what was going on in the future he was pretty affected by it and while it might not really count Champa made a comment about Gohan in the last episode.
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

The fight was creative, but the concept was the poor Piccolo was doomed since the start. Hopefully this trend it's over. Future Trunks with his magical boost teach fans that miracles could happen again.
