I don't think the staff behind the Super anime will be doing the manga any kind of favours by padding out the show for the manga to overtake it. If the new arc is going to start in February, they are going to dive right into it. If the manga is going conclude the Future Trunks arc and also be able to overtake the anime with the start of the new arc, serving its role as a promotional tool for the anime, then the next chapter has to swiftly end the Future Trunks arc. And if that's the case, it's going to be rushed and very disappointing. If not, the manga is going to fall behind the anime with the new arc and very likely not catch up.ssj_duelist wrote:I'm thinking Manga Trunks will wnd in Jan. New arc in Feb. Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
In order for Toyotaro's "the manga will skip ahead of the anime again" statement to be true, his Future Trunks Arc adaptation has to end either this chapter, or part of the way through the next.
Depending on if the Universe Survival Arc is real and what exactly it is (presumably the Multiverse Tournament, but we'll see), of course. This upcoming chapter could see a cliffhanger at it's version of the arc's climax and then wrap up Zamasu's defeat, Future Trunks & Mai leaving, and Zeno's friend in Part A of the next chapter and then potentially have Part B segue into the next arc with the two Zeno discussing the tournament with Goku or something. (If that's what it is.)

Toyotaro didn't say that it would catch up right away, it could be partway through the arc. The arc could still go through January's chapter. I guess we'll find out in a few days, anyhow.

Partway through the arc would be a hell of a time for Toyotaro to skip ahead and start sending the anime "information" again, given how productions schedules work.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I'd give Toyo one or two more chapters at most to be in a position in which he overtakes the anime and can actually stay ahead. The way he talked about being ahead won't mean anything if he's ahead for 1 chapter. He either needs to change his pacing or the page count needs to go up, the latter isn't very likely though.

Well, I'm impressed.
Super vol. 2 sold 39,327 copies in its second calendar week of sales, bringing its total up to 96,274. Not bad at all.

Not bad, not bad at all! Volume 2's story is much more fleshed out so it deserves it. The fact that volume one was sold out for so long could be another factor.Theophrastus wrote:Well, I'm impressed.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Looks like Gokū Black in the manga is just a mere Super Saiyan (no Rosé). I don't know what to say.

Wait are leaks out yet?

There's a bunch here: https://mobile.twitter.com/AnimeAjay
As for Rosé, I think it's neat that Gokû Black gets Majin Vegeta style eyes in normal ssj, but I'll be disappointed if he doesn't use ssjrosé before they fuse.

Boo at Black getting his shit pushed in, even if it makes more sense than the anime power tiers
And the whole "I get stronger every time I'm hit because I'm special" is anime only. Black makes much more sense in the manga, but he's much lamer than the anime version. Kinda like Hit, made more sense in the manga, but more awesome in the anime. I'm sensing a pattern. Well at least them fusing makes more sense now, they're gonna need it because they can't win without it.

According to Herms Black is said to have golden hair by Vegeta. Looks like no rose in the manga version.

If there is no rose, then that's pretty lame. Especially, since, in these few pages, Black doesn't appear to be all that intimidating. However I am interested in seeing a golden haired Goku Black. I hope to see a colored version some time soon.

Unless they fuse right after that I think Rose is still coming. Zamasu seems pretty confident and is still talking about the Zero Mortals Plan.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
In the manga leaks, Vegeta beats up Black, Zamasu shows up and heals him. Maybe this is how Black gets stronger, by abusing Zenkais from Zamasu's heals?

I actually like that dynamic.OLKv3 wrote:In the manga leaks, Vegeta beats up Black, Zamasu shows up and heals him. Maybe this is how Black gets stronger, by abusing Zenkais from Zamasu's heals?

It's the same formula as the U6 arc. Toeis version make no sense whatsoever, but they are way more entertaining. The manga makes way more sense, but it's boring.OLKv3 wrote:Boo at Black getting his shit pushed in, even if it makes more sense than the anime power tiers

Black in the manga is boring and generic. Anime Black was amazing.
Fans always prefer entertainment over logical aspects, no matter what series it is.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
No Rosé! The chapter already sounds promising. The manga is already trying to clean up the mess of the anime by having Zamasu heal Black. Seriously would something like that be so hard to put in the anime?
The Majin Vegeta eye shadow in Goku Black is weird, can't say I'm a fan.

No Rose?! HALLEJUAH! Fuck that garbage. The less crappy new forms the better. You are the best Toyotaro Sensei Senpai Sama and now for people to take me way too seriously on praise.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Reddit is going to absolutely hate this lol.
One thing I'll give Toyo credit for, is that he's making SSB look incredibly strong. In the manga, nobody has topped it's power yet in combat. God ki is still amazing in the manga, while in the anime Hit, Black, Trunks, and even Zamasu shit all over them in their god forms and made them look like average SSJs.
